When editing do most people erase the mistakes and correct them or put them in parenthesis?
Most professional editors use the Word tracking change system when editing electronically. The system strikes through the existing wording (and changes the color of the print) and adds the suggested correction. This can be accepted or rejected at a key stroke in the review of the edit, though. Editorial notes are embedded at the point of query. They are put in square brackets, [ ], that are shown in a different color print and that also can be erased at a keystroke.

That's the long and short of it right there, well defined.

you spelled grammar wrong. thought I would let you know.
Yes, I know. I saw that after I posted it.
Arent you the same person who told me I spelled it wrong?
Yes, I've always had trouble with the word grammar and didn't double check myself this time before posting. As soon as I posted it I realized what I had done. That was the reason I let you know you had spelled yours wrong and I didn't know if you could still change it or not. You misspelled it on a post where you are trying to get a person to use it for editing, that is why I let you know that it was misspelled. I didn't know if you could take it down and repost it correctly or just correct it. If you want me to say it though, touché.
Thats what I was waiting for. Also why did you send me three PMs that were identical?
