How to edit signature under new format:

When on a forum you will see your AV at the top. Click on it and a range of options will appear. Click on 'signature' and you can edit it.

Maybe also of note for some: the old forum required 100 posts before you could upload a custom avatar, but this is no longer the case.

Click on your username in the top bar and mouse over the photo and you should see an edit button. Then you can upload a custom image!

the only problem I’ve found is that when I tried to link an image from Imgur in my signature, it would not let me. I tried using the Media option and it linked, not to the image itself, but to the Imgur post containing the image, which, frankly, looked like shit.

From the old VVB there was always a problem with images and Imgur. So this is nothing new with the new fourm setup.

3. A menu will appear offering the option to insert a link.

I’ve done it before though, without a problem. I think the issue is on Imgur’s end. They no longer offer multiple linking options. I’ll try hosting the image elsewhere later. Right now I am in a race against time to get my Pink Orchid story done.

That wasn't actually meant as a reply to you, but rather general information, as everything else is point-n-click, but the operation to link a pic requires keystrokes.

Hmm... If I want to add an image here, I click on the picture and it will allow me to drag and drop one. In conversations/messages, that doesn't work. You need to input a URL like the previous version, but you can't upload an image.

I see all signatures without any action. I had them turned on under the old system.

I went in to change my signature and it keeps telling me it's (x) number of lines too long. All I had was a short quote and a link to my stories.

It's extremely restrictive. ( I hope, temporarily ) Try putting the link and the quote on the same line instead of having the carriage return down.

Okay, that's unexpected. So, maybe it's three vertical lines of standard text.

Lynn, maybe try taking out a single carriage return between your link and quote. That might not work with the quote being in a larger font. Or it might because your link is also in a reduced size font. We're just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks at this point, because there's no official guidance on what the limitations are yet.

Also, it appears that signature visibility depends upon screen size. I see them on desktop and tablet, but not on my phone. ( Double-checked to make sure I hadn't set my tablet to the desktop site )

What's strange is that there are different results for different people. You have four buttons (including "Find") and three more in the gray bar on the bottom (Latest Activity, Postings, and About). If you click "About," you will see your signature.

I only have one button in the middle section ("Find") and the three in the gray bar. I can't explain why. Whenever a site's coding is changed or outright replaced, a whole lot of glitches can occur that take a while to straighten out.

Another oddity is that my profile picture suddenly started to appear in my postings without me having to do anything to make that happen. I think that started on Saturday.
