How to edge

I would have to say that I always edge if I have the time. Really all edging is, is slowing down or stopping to collect the feelings in your cock for as long as you wish and then starting up again.
Another example is what I'm doing right now. Having some coffee and reading posts on Lit.
Maybe checking out some good photos and a video or two?
Getting nice and hard, dripping and maybe tasting some pre cum. This activity often includes using a Tenga egg to concentrate holding precum and cum. As I get closer and I stop for a minute or so I will often ooze some semen without the orgasm. Maybe go get another coffee. When I know that I have to get going, I'll often remove the egg, turn it inside out, slurp the collected fluids and put it back on. The taste and feeling of a well lubed egg often sends me over the line. Ahhhh!

How to do edging and also maintain hard say over 45mins?
Kegels exercises help to enable edging because Kegels trains the slow twitch muscle fibers in the penis and pelvic floor, which are used for erections. Michelle Kenway has YouTube videos on Kegels. For beginners, check out her video titled, "Kegel Exercises for Men - Beginners Pelvic Floor Strengthening Guide". Also, for a helpful Kegels coaching video, see the video titled, "Kegels for Men - REAL TIME Daily Kegels WORKOUT".

I mean, I can stop and resume again later, but these hours-long constant-arousal full-and-fuller-erection scenarios are impossible for me.
It makes me wonder if they’re exaggerated and mythical, in the same way that people think the g-spot, squirting and multiple-orgasms are mythical.

45 minutes? That's a long time for me...the good news is that you can literally edge for hours or even days and just enjoy the feeling...
You’re kind of saying two different things here.

How can 45 minutes be a long time for you but you can also literally edge for hours or even days?

Ok so when you guys do kegels, erected or not?
Kegels are training exercises, and erections do not really come during Kegels. Kegels trains twitch muscle fibers in the pelvic floor and penis. The slow twitch fibers are endurance fibers, and they are associated with erections and hold for extended periods of time. Fast twitch fibers are for the fast, strong contractions associated with ejaculation. For the exercises, Michelle Kenway describes in her YouTube video the technique as simultaneously: (1 retracting the penis inwards as if a turtle is drawing its head in, (2 tightening and lifting around the anus opening, and (3 thinking about passing urine. The retraction is slow for the slow twitch fiber exercise, and it is very rapid for the fast twitch fiber exercise. The slow twitch fiber exercise is done 10 times for 10 seconds each, and the fast twitch fiber exercise is done 10 times for 1 second each. Both of these 10 times sequences should be done at least 3 times a day and for at least 3 days of the week.

You can do it with or without an erection.

It does not make you get an erection (well, not me, anyway).

Kind of one reason to do it is that when your PC muscles are strong and well-innervated and under conscious control, you can flex them during sex to make your erection do fun things and have fun feelings.

It hasn't helped me with edging, though. Seems like I'm different from a lot of these guys.
