I don't know whether size matters or not, but I am curious to know how one determines it.
Just out of curiousity, I decided to measure myself. I won't give the dimensions I came up with because that's not what this is about. What I did discover was that if I measured along the back or top side of my penis, I came up with a result that was three inches shorter than if I measured along the front.
To clarify: Imagine the erect penis. Not having seen many, I don't know if mine is typical, but it emerges from the scrotum at about a 45 degree angle upward, and curves gently along its length until it is almost straight up at the tip. Unlike Bill Clinton, I do not angle to the right or left.
Now, if one measures along the front, one begins at the root just above the scrotum at the point where the hardened shaft begins. Measuing upwards to the tip, one arrives at a result of X inches.
Now, if one decides to measure along the back, one begins at the point where the penis joins the lower abdomen - which is a couple of inches higher than the starting point of the first measurement! These inches are lost.
So, how does one determine length?
