Hello, I'm trying to get started with my story on this site.
I'm trying to upload, but I want to know how to do mark it "chapter one" and upload chapter 2 at some future point. I have 200k words done, but I need to reread it for final editing etc and I want to go by parts.
Should I just make it a series??

Are you loading the 200k words in one go, or planning to break it up into chapters?

If you're breaking it up, I'd suggest 10 - 12k words (3 - 4 Lit pages) each chapter as a bit of a sweet spot.

If you title alphanumerically, the site runs a sort routine that joins the story together automatically. Title the chapters like this:

Title title Ch.01
Title title Ch.02
Title title Ch.03

Or

Title title - Annie
Title title - Betty
Title title - Charlie

If you have finished the first long part, load all the chapters at the same time, with a Note to the Editor, this is a chaptered story. Laurel will then schedule a release every 24 or 48 hours, which keeps you on the Category front page for a while.

10k words? Interesting. I'd been planning on 25k, but I'll try your way.
So it is correct to have it come out in a 'series' with similar names, and it automatically 'chapter-ifies' it into a cluster like I see on other authors' pages.
Thanks, I'll give that a go later today =)
As for multiple, probably not. It's taking me a while to proofread my work, and I've still got work haha.

You need the same text at the beginning of the title, not similar. See my examples above.

25k is a good length for a stand-alone story. I wouldn't chapter that.

It got published! Woohoo!
I did have the exact same text to lead off, but oddly the approval process changed it from - Chapter 1 to Ch. 01. I don't mind though, the story's title is unchanged which is what matters.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, the story in my documents is currently at 200k words, and I'd been planning to do chapters of 25k each, but I took your advice and narrowed it down to 10-12k words each.
