How to close a thread

Can someone give me the instructions on how to send a thread and close it for a particular person? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance!

you're having trouble because only moderators can close threads, i'm afraid. i don't know if mods can bounce a user from a particular thread but my guess is, at least in this version of vbulletin, this is not possible.

if it's important, i suggest PMing the moderator of the forum in which that thread appears.

If you're having issues with a troll, just put them on "ignore" and their posts won't show up to you. There is no way to restrict a single user from any particular thread, it would require a whole lot more work than that, and it would all be handled in the back office, to which only the moderators and admin have access.
