Ideal body proportions and bra size for your women of fantasy can be quickly calculated as follows:

Determine the height of the fantasy woman you want to create.

Look on the following chart to determine the weight of the woman associated with her overall build and height.

Now take the 'height' and 'weight' of your ideal woman of fantasy and enter it into the proportion calculator.

http://www.bblex.de/en/calc/prop.php

The calculator provides the average chest size for a given weight; equivalent to the under-bra dimension of a woman.

Take the chest size/under-bra dimension and use it as the number of the bra size.

The number in 36-C represents the chest size provided by the proportion calculator.

Bra's come in even numbered increments like 30, 32, 34, 36, ...

The letter in 36-C represents the cup size necessary hold a boob and is measured by wrapping a measuring tape around the entire chest to include the breasts; the over-bust measurement. The difference between the under-bust(chest size) and over-bust measurements determine the bra size. A difference of

0" to 0.5" = AA
0.5" to 1" = A
1" to 2" = B
2" to 3" = C
3" to 4" = D

A woman wearing a 32-C has breasts that will appear larger than a woman wearing a 36-C, because the same size balloons are resting upon a smaller body (so to speak).

A woman with a 32-B bra at 5'-0" and 80 pounds will appear busty. While a woman with a 40-B bra at 5'-10" and 160 pounds may appear flat chested.

A muscular woman will have a larger chest size because of the additional layers of muscle, but their cup size is usually reduced because of the lower percentage of body fat.

To test your prowess at determining the bust size of well known women, take the Celebrity Bra Size test at:

It's easy and doesn't take any calculations at all.

The reason I posted this is because authors will often attempt to describe their characters with completely unrealistic proportions; which detracts from the story plausability.

A woman 5-10 with a 34-C bra size is not reasonable, they would be annorexic and fragile, with nice breasts. A woman 5-10 with a 42-C bra size is nicely shaped, but not overly well endowed.

Yes, we know. You are SO much better off understanding that your readers have minds too. As a writer it is your job to tap into the readers mind and create an image of the woman, not tell him/her what she looks like in boring description.

Ask yourself which is better -
Wilma's 40DDD knockers fit her athltic body to a tee as she jogged though town.

or

I watched Wilma's knockers bounce up and down as she jogged through town.

If you're an accountant, you care about her height, weight, hair length, bra size, shoe size and so on.

As a writer your job is to create an image in the mind of the reader and fuck the numbers. Do you care if the image is exactly the same as yours? Not really.

Now forget all this crap and go back to writing.

Hiya James, how are you? Welcome to the AH by the way.

I can see you're trying to be helpful, thank you but you have stepped right into a common hate of authors in here. Generally, we are against the use of bra sizes/penis sizes/height/weight etc measurements prefering a discription to just an emotionless number.

I guess there are times when i number is the onlt thing that will do...say your character is buying a bra in a story, it might be reasonble to have her saying her size but generally it's agreed that it's best avoided.

You've just kinda walked right into this strong feeling, but really, this lot don't bite...well, unless you ask nicely. :)

There's always room for another couple of inches, in fiction.

Hi James: Is that a gun in your pocket, or are just pleased to see us?

breast sizes can't be fictionally calculated

Actually, I believe bra size can be fictionally calculated but it requires Quantum Mechanics and the use of a Super Computer. Unless you are european and bras are measured in milimeters. Then the entire system breaks down.

So does the elastic

I hate to be picky here, but the proper reference is "Grand Tetons.' Someone who speaks French can give you the translation.

Alternatively, THE TWIN PEAKS OF CARPATHIA worrks too. But I didn't think anyone would get the joke.

A woman 5-10 with a 34-C bra size is not reasonable
 I think you left out the critical number to make it "unreasonable"--her weight--which, according to the chart, depends on FRAME. So if she's got a nice, big frame, which IS the fantasy of many a male reader, than 34C is far from being unreasonable, and far from making her look anorexic.

I mean, ignoring the fact that most of us here never use bra size, and ignoring the fact that most men have no fucking idea of the correlation between bra-size and breast size (outside of knowing that "c" and "d" mean big and 34-38 is usually curvaceous) if you're going to say nonsense like this, that a 5'10" woman with 34C breasts is "unreasonable"--then your calculations are really going to go out the window. It's complete bullshit.

It's all good

When my wife and I got married (she was 19), she was 5' 4" 108# and was a natural 32D. Twenty years and three kids later she was 120# and a 34DD. All of this was 100% natural so height and weight can impact breast size but not always. You can make 'em what ever yu want!!! I've enjoyed 'em all from A to EE, don't think I ever ran into a AA.

BTW - she had breast reduction and is now a C and loves it.
