So yeah.. how? Please?!

I have discovered im god damn good at it... using hubby as a muse but never anyone else.

where does one go from here?

step 2

Step two is to take off your clothes, and, presto, you are a nude photographer.
That IS what you meant, right. :)

Get a business license and start advertising!
If you have all the needed equipment, then it should be a snap, all you need are customers.

If you're a woman and open-minded, play up those angles. There are plenty of guys who advertise as nude photographers, but I can't say I recall seeing a ton of women in that niche. If I were you, I'd emphasize professionalism and my clients' comfort in my marketing. I'm sure there are loads of men who would prefer to hire a female photographer, so you could put some effort toward finding those guys. You could also market your service as something like "beautiful, flattering photos for real people/women" and push yourself as a photographer everyone can be comfortable with.

On the open-minded front, I think you could do well targeting both the LGBT and kink-friendly populations with boudoir and nude photos. I can think of a bunch of people in the BDSM and swinging communities, for instance, who would love to give suggestive or nude photos to their partners and have themselves as couples and groups photographed doing what they love most. If those are clients you're interested in acquiring, find out where they congregate and what they see, then go for them.

Also, look at the work of the nude photogs in your area, then figure out how you might differentiate yourself. Like I said, I think you can do some of that with the ideas above, but I'd suggest talking to your target markets so you can tailor your offerings to their needs and coming up with some ways to be unique. You need to give people reasons to hire you.

First, figure out what you mean by "become a nude photographer". Professional? Make a living at it? Amature? Fine art? Sensual Phtographs for the average person?

Then study and read about those who do the things you want successfully. And, if you want to do this as a business, look for resources on running a small business, especially a photography business.

Reading photography forums can be insightful.

One of my friends is an erotic/fetish photographer, she studied for years to learn her craft. Her work is stunning, yet there is less call for it than you would imagine, even though she has exhibited at the Royal Academy.

It would help if you were a bit more specific. Do you have decent equipment?

Once you know technically how to use your equipment it is mainly about
creative lighting and posing the subject. Are you using an off camera flash?

Another thing is that you might like to look at making a 'model release' form - something which lays out how you will use the photos as part of your portfolio, and how you will not use the images. Can you use photoshop?

Start by joining photography/model sites that aim to help the two meet up. Then you can set up appointments with ones willing to shoot for free and start building your portfolio. Eventually you'll have enough work to start your own website and go from there

I agree with what someone said about becoming a photographer - if you haven't done that yet, you most likely need to start there before you get more specific. See if you know anyone other than your hubby who would be happy to model for you, so you could begin to build up a portfolio of the specialism you're interested it. :)

One of the most important things, regardless of what sort of photographer you want to be - packshot, portrait, wedding, landscape, boudoir - is to get together 'a book', a selection of your work. Ninety-nine out of a hundred prospective clients want to see what you've already done. If they like it, you could have your next commission.

And then get yourself a simple website. Maybe you know someone who can do this for you? Or maybe you can try a DIY solution such as WordPress. And keep it fresh - something new at least a couple of times a month. Oh, and good luck. Luck is usually a big factor. :)

Many good ideas here. I wonder why the OP hasn't chimed in again. If you are looking to gain some experience in professional nude photography, I would suggest you join a model website (ModelMayhem is one I can recall). Most of these site will have a mix of models that are open to glamor, nude, and even fetish modeling. Most also will have a section for photographers. Many new models will be willing to do a photo session on a pro bono basis as they are trying to build up a decent portfolio, and that is also what you also want to build yourself.

Good luck (as an amateur glamor photographer, I mean that sincerely).

Not to contridict SweetErica because she's one of the smartest ones in these parts, but back in the 60's and 70's, Bunny Yeager was one a really well known female glamour photographer and did many of the early Playboy pictorials in that time period.

If you're really serious about being a glamour/nude photographer and not just somebody who wants to take pictures of naked women, the first thing is to get really trained and some experience as a "regular" photographer. Landscapes, weddings, kids at Christmas, 50th wedding anniversaries, sports events, whatever. If you're good enough to get published or win prizes you may be on the right road. The ability to understand lighting and composition is primary before dealing with women in vulnerable poses, even with all the rework options of digital photography.

Next you have to learn to deal with women in the scenario of nude/glamour photos. Unless you're just talking about naked shots to put on Lit or some place where horny guys will think anything is great that shows tits, ass, and pussy, you'll have to understand your model and the mood you want to create. It's not always as easy as it looks. You'll have to work with the model to get what you're looking for.

I worked with a guy who was a photographer for the company I was with for years. He also did freelance sports work for newspapers and magazines and took some famous pictures back in the 70's and 80's for which he has copyright, and have been published and sold. He also did some glamour stuff for "audition" sorts of things for Playboy and Penthouse, but never got to do the published spreads. However, I watched him sometimes dealing with women for photos for company ads and pictures. He had a way of dealing with them that made them feel quite comfortable and relaxed and would give him what he needed. I'd think that sort of "gift of gab and shmooze" is especially important for good glamour photos.

Whatever, good luck with it, especially if you're thinking of a career in this area.

Meet-up Groups

There are a number of Meet-up Groups that cover every aspect of Photography. As an example I am attending a Meet-up tomorrow that will be using a professional poser. Limited to 9 photographers and will include nude posing as a part of the session. It will be hosted in a professional studio. Lighting will range from natural light to shooting under the lights.

Then I need to practice....seeking subjects now!
