It's mostly used by people who vaguely remember a specific story and are trying to find it again, but you can also use it to say "I'd like recommendations for stories with this theme and these elements," and hopefully someone can help you out
Also more generally, you should play around with the Story Tags search. You can search by multiple tags at once, so you can really narrow in on something specific!
