If I hadn't been getting caught up on Rika's story for Rhys, I wouldn't have been late getting in the shower.

If I hadn't been checking back to answer posts and send Rhys witty PM's, I wouldn't have been cutting it too close.

If the Earl hadn't started his thread alerting me to his new story being up, I wouldn't have known to look for it.

If I hadn't taken a peek at the insanely hot story I wouldn't have gotten sucked in to reading it. I was was ten minutes late already.

If I had left ten minutes earlier, the woman in the left lane wouldn't have merged into my lane without seeing me, crashed into me sideways and ripped my passenger-side mirror off.

It gets worse. The woman in the other car spoke no English. She didn't have a driver's license either.

We waited 40 minutes for the cops. They didn't speak Spanish either, even though I told them on the phone to send someone who did.

When the police technician finally came (they don't send real cops for this kind of thing) he took a statement and sent me on my way. 45 minutes late for work now. I asked him what was going to happen to the lady, because she didn't even seem to have a green card let alone car insurance. The kid (at least he was hot) said they'd wait for interpreter and go from there.

So then I felt really bad. I pictured her being deported for taking my mirror off.

My boyfriend is pissed.

My back and shoulder hurt.

At least nothing too serious happened. I was in an accident with a lady who didn't speak English either. I felt the same way you did, but you didn't do anthing wrong. Remeber that it's all on her to know those things and be legit here. Just get some rest and be thankful that you are okay. OK, putting on my health care professional hat for just a minute...
Please see a chiropractor. Don't put it off. Even if the pain isn't that bad right now, it will likely get worse. If you can a cranio-sacral therapist, I would try that too. Ice the muscles tonight and probably tomorrow. If it's achy after that, use heat. I wouldn't rub it much for the first couple of days as you will likely just increase the swelling right now.

My neck and left shoulder have been fucked up for years. I used to visit a chiropractor until I realized the adjustments of my mis-aligned vertebrae were just making my pain worse. Now I just tough it out; weight lifting has made it a lot better.
