How stupid can you be?
My Co-workers got a lesson in this today.
You see I work in a for profit Hospital. The R.N.'s and Aides on my unit have been sucking up the overtime. They have been pulling extra shifts for the past several months without question and with great glee. (They love the extra bucks in their paychecks.)
Several people have left the staff and no-one has been hired to replace them. We are now short handed.
Yesterday our supervisor announced that she would not be hiring an more staff members, we had shown that we could operate with what we had.
Today we had four R.N.'s and two Aides for forty patients.
My co-workers kicked and screamed while I laughed at them. They had brung this on all of us by their greed. They had caused this, and now it is up to them to change it. (Will they? Most likely not. Instead of fighting this they will take the easy route and find other jobs.)
