How scary is Velvet?

It has come to my attention of late that people find my posts here a bit combative. In the interest of acquiring new self knowledge, I'd like to know how HT regulars - and not so regulars if they're feeling brave - feel about my posting style.

Meh, I think you're fine. And does "Combative" mean you pick fights or does it mean you challenge people's views... cuz if that's all it is, then that's not your problem, it's their's.

As far as I know, you don't troll around trying to be the biggest possible asshole, you seem quite involved in the discussions and people seem to generally appreciate you.

velvet, i feel that like everyone else who spends enough time on a forum (and i certainly include myself in that list), you do have the odd off day. i think that there are times that you make a snap judgment, or someone pushes one of your hot buttons.

but the key is that when you do, you always recover. and i think that says a lot more about you. :>

Lots of people who ID as sub or slave in private are aggressive and controlling on a regular basis, when interacting with the public at large.

Of course, there are some who are deferential in general, and others who are neither controlling nor deferential as a matter of course.

The bottom line: there is not necessarily a positive correlation between sexual ID and public behavior. This is true for Dom-types, too, by the way.

I respect your views and have learned a lot from you and others on these boards. Not very, that said, I would not go up against her without full knowledge of the subject under discussion lest I have my backside handed back to me on a silver platter.

Is Velvet a valuable HT poster?

Absofugginlutely, if that cannot be gleaned from reading her posts then...no seriously, it's that obvious.

Is she a pain in the arse?

To some yes, but then again she doesn't appear to suffer fools gladly and I find it hard to fault her for that.
