How often do you dream about sex?

It was during a recent month-long stint in Tokyo and Shanghai, while working like a dog and with no sexual outlet, that I began to dream with an intensity that I haven't in years. Every third night I'd experience richly textured hallucinations, many of them erotic, some even depraved, and if I remembered enough of them when I woke up, I'd scribble notes in a pad I set by the bed for the purpose. Though there were surreal elements, I was struck by the strength and internal consistency of the narratives as well as the profusion of detail. Sometimes I'd write for thirty or forty minutes after awakening, just trying to get it all down before I forgot.

I don't normally have a lot of erotic dreams, and when I do, they rarely work in my favor. Typically, the seemingly inevitable sex act is somehow canceled, or postponed, or elided, as though my internal editor is performing a reality-check. But these dreams had no such limits. I've never experienced anything like it.

First: what about you?

* How often do you dream of sex? How explicitly?
* Do you have orgasms in your dreams?
* Are there any patterns to them? Do you often dream of the same people, the same acts, the same situations? How do they correlate to the things that you love or fear about sex?

Second: I've taken a look at my notes and I'd like to flesh them out into something readable. I've earmarked twelve erotic dreams that I want to write up into a short collection. I'd like to correspond with someone as part of the process of doing so, trading dreams and fantasies and discussing what they say about us and our lives. If you're a woman with a literary bent and a rich fantasy life, an adventurous real life, or sex-charged dreams that you want to share, PM me. Let's talk!

What a fabulous post. Good luck with your collection! Although I don't think that I am the woman you're looking for, I wish you luck in your quest for a like-minded partner with whom you can share dreams and fantasies.

I will, however, answer your questions:

1) I dream about sex often, but I could not say how often, exactly. The dreams are usually very explicit.

2) I experience intense pleasure, but not to the point of orgasm.

3) My sexual dreams almost always involve inappropriate partners in some way: colleagues, friends, people with whom I have conflicts in real life. I don't know what this means; I never thought about it until this moment.

Thanks for the reply! Interesting that you dream about people that you have unresolved issues with. Would you say in general that you embrace or avoid interpersonal conflict?

Another question: when you're involved with someone, do you tell them about dreams that you have that involve other people?

1) I'm highly avoidant, unless some sort of intellectual issue is at stake, in which case I can be a ferocious debater.

2) No, I never do.

When you were having your dreams, were they in English? Chinese? Japanese?

Dreaming

I have sexy dreams about 3 times per week. Most of them are about my wife. She has great tits and I like to show them off r/t. I dream about her showing her tits off to other men. They love it and often play with her boobs. She wears a 34DDD bra and them are all natural.

I also dream about her getting a total body massage. This has also happened r/t. Our friend has given her the best massages and some of the biggest orgasms she has ever had.

I've never had a sex dream. I probably masterbate too much (seriously).

I have had exactly two sex dreams that I can remember in my life. Unfortunately I never achieve orgasm but...

The first was about a fictional person. The thing was, the character was out of a book and he's very dark in the book, so my dream was of him bending me over and taking me as roughly as he could. Fuck, that was hot.

The next was of my best friend. She is female, and I'd day I'm abnout 97 % straight. 100% straight in practice, though. And I've never dared to mention it to her but obviously there's something I want there.

How hot is that.

Fits, not that my armchair psychology should be trusted. I am avoidant too, somewhat, and my dreams sometimes seem to reflect my frustrations and difficulties with sex or with my partner. I rarely have sex dreams that have people in them that I have unresolved non-sexual issues with though. That's kind of humorous and hot at the same time. I don't know what I'd do if I dreamt of screwing the boss that didn't give me the raise or the annoying neighbor upstairs who plays her music too loud. :)

Tough situation, isn't it? I'd love to be able to share dreams with my partner, but on the other hand I know that I've reacted jealously to hearing some of them.

English. In fact, the dreams mostly didn't take place in China or Japan, though they were often in exotic locales that I'd never been to, like Morocco or India. I've managed to write one of them up; PM me if you'd like to read it.

1) If I haven't had sex or masturbated in a week or more, then I tend to dream of it, wouldn't call it overly explicit.
2) Yes
3) The only trend is that I can rarely recall the persons face. The only fear that may occur is finishing too quickly but does anybody have sex dreams where its like a marathon?

1) I dream of sex directly and intensely maybe from once to three times a week. In between those times with more moderate dreams, they may feature some sort of intimate activity with a character but not full-on, outright sex. However, those as well as the directly hardcore dreams will leave me waking with a very lusty erection.

2) I've had many, many mental orgasms in my dream state, but I masturbate and have sex enough for me not to actually erupt in my sleep and wake up with some sticky draws.

3) I haven't discerned any specific patterns. They sometimes feature people from my past or present directly, or an amalgam of them, or representations of them that don't look like them but for some reason inside the dream I know who they're supposed to be and I react to them likewise.

Every once in a blue moon I will dream about someone I used to like and didn't get a chance with and in my dreams shit just comes to fruition like gangbusters. I've had two dreams in my whole life that were explicitly homosexual even though I'm sexually het. Sometimes the sex in the dreams last for a quick second and other dreams it's a long, drawn out, languorous and cinematic visual affair. Often I fuck and wake up right at the onset of orgasm. Other times something else in the dream always causes coitus interruptus right when the good part comes along. Positions are usually missionary and doggy style fucking.

Most of my sex dreams do occur because a) I'm in a sexual state of mind most of the time anyway, b) I've been reading and watching porn or erotica or doing erotic art or writing, and c) I've eaten some spicy, stimulating food for dinner and the chemicals are just going "ping!" in my body as I sleep.

I try to save the most vivid dreams as scripts for my own erotica in my art and writing. I should do it when I wake up, but often I'm just too fucking horny and end up using the energy for a good ol' fashioned jerk session to throw some water on my fire.

Im not sure exactly on the frequency but at least once a week. It can be quite explicit. i can remember the feel of their touch, the kiss, the almost orgasm feeling - this makes sense in my mind lol.

* Do you have orgasms in your dreams?
No and that can be a bit annoying when the dream was good, its kinda like sex without the orgasm.

* Are there any patterns to them? Do you often dream of the same people, the same acts, the same situations? How do they correlate to the things that you love or fear about sex?

They do seem to centre on outdoor or risky sex mainly. But sometimes they are more "never gonna happen" sex dreams. You know the kind with rich, famous people or (scary) old teachers - they make me feel sick but in the dream i love it

I do share my dreams with my partner when i remember them, im naturally a talkative person so any extra conversational bits are all needed hehehe.

I dream about sex quite often, maybe once or twice a week.

Normally I dream about having sex with a girl I am interested in at the time, sometimes the girl in my dream is someone ive never even met before.

Isn't that crazy! That happens to me a lot, too. I think it's incredible that I can synthesize someone completely while I'm dreaming, a face that I've never seen before in life.

Apparently I know what I like, too, because they're usually HOT.

I have a sex dream about once a month, I never orgasm, and sometimes there's mutated genitals. or they morph from one to the other. one time I dreamed I was eating pussy and woke up sucking dick. no joke.

1. Several times a week. Sometimes I think it's very explicit, but usually it's a bit fuzzy, so it's hard to tell. More often than not, though, it's just a lot of heated kissing and touching.

2. Never D: It's always just getting so close, and then when I wake up I realize it wasn't close at all.

3. I have this thing a lot where I dream I'm someone else-- various characters from TV/movies/games-- and when that happens the people I'm with jump around a good bit. Just the other night I had one where I was the main girl in a certain manga, in a threesome with the two main guys.
When I'm myself it's mostly this relatively obscure musician that I've been madly in love with for months. I meet him after a concert, or during it we make a connection and I'm unnerved by the attention... If I'm another person (this other musician who performed with him once), it usually involves strap-ons and/or crossdressing (both of us!).
A recurring theme is voyeurism-- watching him (he never knows but catches me masturbating after), or him watching me and I don't know until he shows up and seduces me. He goes down on me a lot.... *blush*
And then there's this crack pairing from Glee that my brain suddenly came up with which also involves strap-ons. So yeah. Big thing with strap-ons.

Mine tend to be impressions, glimpses, emotions and sensations. Nothing like a movie or anything.
Once in a while there'll be something more coherent, but not usually.
I've orgasmed a couple times, but usually I'll wake up masturbating (if its a good one)

yeah, this post started out in my head much more interestingly, btu I'm tired and I've written a LOT this weekend.

Usually if I have a dream, intimacy -whether hugging, cuddling, kissing, or sex- is involved, and it's so explicit you would think you were watching a porno.

I can't say whether or not it results in an orgasm, but I always wake up drenched.

I do usually dream of the same people, but in each dream the intimacy factor is different. The situations are usually different. I think my dreams enhance my desire for sex.

I've taken some of my dreams and have turned them into stories.

I 'd say I dream of sexual acts sporadically - maybe it actually happens more often, but I 'm a person who usually forgets his dreams, thus it must be strong enough for me to remember it.

The most common stars of these dreams are ex-gf's, or women of my circle of acquaintances who I 've never had sex in real life with, and usually not even thought of it. More rarely, I see my partner cheating me with someone other. I 've never seen myself having sex with complete strangers or with my current partners (although, as I mentioned before, I often see them after they become ex-).

In most cases, something happens (I wake up, she or I regret it, someone catches us out etc) and it doesn't finish. I think Mr Freud would have a lot to say about it :D

There's something really interesting about the idea of explicit sex dreams; does that mean that what you dream maps on to what you desire in a one-to-one correspondence, with no sublimated wish-fulfillment, no complex symbolism?

I only have explicit sex dreams when I haven't had sex for awhile, a long time, like a month. If I am having sex regularly I tend not to dream about it.

It just so happens that I had a very vivid sex dream last night. It was vivid and seemed very real, but I am forgetting some crucial details (that is, if they were details I 'knew' at all). I do recall that I was being fucked slowly and rhythmically and that I could look down and see the cock pushing in and pulling out of me and that I was enjoying it tremendously. There was no fear at all, so I know it wasn't a forced sex dream (I've had quite a few of those over the years...they can be both scary and terribly arousing). The thing that is annoying me is that I have no idea whose cock it was. It was a faceless fuck! It went on for a while, and then as I began to orgasm...I woke up. That always makes me a little mad even though getting mad is a silly response. I always feel like "Damn it! I wanted to come!" But does that make sense? If I come in a dream, that means that I will have slept through an orgasm, and why would I want to do that? It's like that old trope about a tree falling in a forest with no one around to hear it, does it make a sound? If I have an orgasm in a dream, did it really happen? If I have had orgasms while dreaming (and I bet that I have), I have no memory of them. What good is that? Anyways, however irrational it might be, I still felt angry when I woke up on the verge of coming, and I was also as hot and bothered and wet as if I actually had been getting fucked a few moments prior. I knew that I was too worked up to fall back asleep, so I had to scratch that itch myself. I felt a twinge of embarrassment when I noticed how ridiculously wet I was and how wet the sheet under me was. Like I said, it was a pleasurable dream. It didn't take much effort at all to make myself come. I came fast, and I came hard. Really hard. Hard enough that I let out what I could describe as a loud gulping groan. It really would have been a shame to have slept through that!
