Come on, spill it. How often do you click on your member page to check your scores? Do you check them frequently and often, or couldn't you care less?

I usually check mine a couple of times a day, but usually only to see if there have been any new PC's added. However, during competition time, I find I'm checking them much more often. The views and votes come thick and fast and it's fascinating to watch the score fluctuate as rapidly. I'm not obsessed, or anything. ;)

When a new story gets posted I check more often, but this contest has released an obsession or something. I find myself checking a couple of times a day. Except for the fun I've had with everyone else on this thing, I'll be glad when it's over - I'm exhausted!

I loved your story!!!

I have 89 poems and no stories (yet). I have no chance to keep track of what scores they had or have. When a new one is posted, I look at it one or two times in the contol panel to see it it gets any votes, and moreso if it gets any comments.

Then I can't be arsed, and goes to write the next one.

I check occasionally, mostly to see if there are any new PC's. When new story goes up I check a few times a day for the first day or two then move on to the next story in my head.

Checked once a month, but I have under ten stories so I rarely look, but I've been checking a few times a day since my contest entry, mostly cos it started out at one point something and it's gradually, decimal point by point, creeped up to 3.47. It's also easy to check on new PCs, I like that.

once a day, whilst polluting lungs with first cig of the day and rotting stomach with first pot of coffee.
i like to respond to anyone who pc's

im still in mourning over one of my poor stories when its ratings plummeted swiftly.. swore I wouldn’t check more than once a day after that. bummah.. ah well. such is life

I have to admit I check the scores on my only two submissions once a day.

Which is odd and semi-pointless since I wrote both for an audience of two.

How do most of you have the self-control to only check them once a day, or whatever? I have a link in my favourites, and it's just too much of a temptation to resist. Then again, I am a bit of a facts and figures whore - I do love keeping a head full of useless stats. The member page, with its lovely votes and PC's, helps me to indulge in one of my passions. :D

I check the scores and comments on the new stuff two or three times a day for the first week, but after that time there's no point in doing it. :)

:) Ah ha ha. You just made me check. I'm up to 3.49, yea me. Back to finishing my new story. P.

I have an Excel spreadsheet with all the votes on my one story posted. During the first couple of weeks (contest time) I updated it 3 or 4 times a day! I can probably tell you the exact value and date of maybe 90% of all votes that story received. :D

Whoop!

(Uneducated $&*@!!! ;) )

Mine's sticking at 4.58, with 60 votes. It's getting to the point now where new votes aren't having much of an impact. However, I do know it's had a few bombs, from the way the score dipped markedly, then gradually rose again, about four times yesterday.

Laurencita, you need to mastrubate more, or something. P. ;)

I check about once a week normally.

When I have a new story posted I check about twice a day.

During a competition I check every couple of hours because I usually have more than two entries. The list is getting long and scrolling through it to check late entries in the alphabet reminds me that stories starting with 'A' or 'B' get more views.

I print off my list about once every three months.

I just checked my scores the other day. First time in months! I used to check at least once a day when I posted a story. I haven't posted anything in ages, so haven't checked.

Speaking of scores:

I have three stories right now at 5.00, 4.88, and like that. Really high.

Every one of those has less than 10 votes, so that none of the stories show the H. Of the ones with all 10 votes, only two are "near-hot" stories, and they alternate over the weeks, one will climb over the threshhold, then the other, sometimes neither.

But at 7 and 8 votes, the damn things are hot as brass.

I suspect you lovely people are doing those seven or eight votes, and the public at large is less happy with me.

Thanks:heart:

Aw, Cant, that's great, but fuck, you've set yourself up now. P.

Once, I had one story that reached 11 votes with a perfect 5.00. For a few blissful hours it was top of the overall Top List. Now - it is about 4.34.

You should plug the ones that need the extra votes. Be warned. Once they reach the magic 10 votes the trolls notice.

I had that blissful experience once too, Og. Wonderful feeling for the thirty seconds or so that it lasted! Like several others of you, I check often on a new entry, even more so during a competition. I find that I get a feel for how a story is doing over the first few days. After that, it's just the occasional decimal point worth of change, usually. If I've nothing new up, and no competition entries, maybe once a week or so. I will admit that I did the mother hen bit on my 'Prom' story as it finally crawled to 1000 votes!

I'm even sadder than Lauren sometimes, too. If I save my member page with the scores as a .txt file, I have a Perl script that I wrote which will extract the titles, scores and views and tab separate them, ready to be pasted straight into Excel. Now is that sad, or sad? I tell myself I did it to improve my Perl programming.

I had one story remain at the perfect 5 for the first 28 votes!!!

(It was the Lit Olympics Opening Ceremony, and there were at least 28 people mentioned in it. ;) )

After that it plummeted, before steadily climbing again. :D

Lou :rose:

P.S. Alex, you, you, GEEK!!! :p

I usually only check the scores of my recently posted stories, to see how well they've been received. The older ones are sadly neglected.
