I consider time on the AH writing time. It's often good practice in word play and picking up on other ideas and styles. Plus belonging to a writing community is worthwhile.

I'd say my time gets cut 90% though when Svenska's out of town.

p.s. sometimes the stress of being on the AH makes going to fiction writing a relief. ;)

Duh...

I seem to have quit writing lately, so I can't really answer the question. I think I probably spend about 30 minutes a day on here. That cuts into my shoe shopping time, but so be it.

Nosy little critter aint ya Muff. :D LOL... I spend very little time here now. Just too busy writing.

because I can't

kind of like erotica... can't get any so you read about it

the AH... can't write any so you post about it

I could write a novel with the time I spend on the boards at times. But I don't see it as wasted time. I write when the urge hits me normally, and the boards can be a nice break too.

just to spice up the stats.

I never consider any of my time spent on the boards is wasted writing time :D

I post in spurts normally, although there have been a few nights that if I had spent more time writing and less time perusing the boards I could have finished a story or two.

Shaking a fist..."DAMN YOU BULLETIN BOARD"

I write at work, where they don't let us have internet access. I do my surfing and chatting while at home, with other distractions -- kid, television, chores -- that would get in the way of writing but not so much these other pastimes.

I love my job!

It comes and goes

Sometimes I'm a personable mood and I read and post alot, other nights I don't even check in.

I'm embarrased to say....

Especially if you factor in Livejournaling, random emails, and my *cough* internet reversi game *cough* it's shocking that I get any work done at all

I am soooo easily distracted.....
and real life gets in the way too....

lol

great poll

i always turn on my computer with the thought that i'm going to write part of a story, finish one up, start one, etc...then i'm like "well, i'll just check and see what's going on on lit..." and then POOF it's bedtime or time to go to work.

writers block. really.
