Actual, plain water. Not liquids.

https://www.outsideonline.com/2377851/water-gallon-challenge-month

I used to work 12 and 1/2 hours a day or night at fairly high elevation so I took what I thought was a gallon water jug with me I'd selected that particular brand because it came in one of those hard clear plastic jugs which is supposed to bleed a little less plastic into your beverages. I always drank well over half of it and some nights I would drink the entire thing when the air was dry.

Years later buying the same brand I suddenly noticed that it's not actually a gallon jug , it's three liters.

These days I always carry about a half a case of small water bottles with me in the car. In the summer time I've got them in a cooler over ice in the winter time I don't bother. I drink probably two quarts or more. I rarely drink anything else because I don't like to drink my calories.

Probably not enough. Liter and half, to two litres. I don’t drink soda or coffee though.

I think the guidelines are about two quarts which is slightly less than two liters. If you consume diuretics like caffeinated* sodas and coffee you would need more.

*voice-to-text typed "half animated sodas." I think those would be your a non caffeinated sodas with high sugar content.

About 3 liters. I find I drink far more water in the first half of my shift.

Dehydration is the number one cause of headaches.

That is definitely true. I hardly ever drink but I was sitting in a bar one time reading the label on a 5% alcohol by volume English Beer and it suddenly hit me that I'm drinking 95% water yet I'm getting dehydrated. So I looked it up and it turns out there's some kind of enzyme or hormone or something it's triggered when you drink that causes urination when your body actually doesn't need to remove water from your bloodstream.

I'm curious though of the three liters you drink how much of a dribbles down your shirt? I kid, I k8d.

When I was young I decided to quit paying my physical therapist and just get a gym membership and I would spend three or four hours a day in the gym they had one of those sauna rooms and older men would be in their sweating. And I never really saw the point it seemed to me that the sweat from an honest work out is somehow more satisfying.

These days I get it though, I probably don't have the energy to work up an honest sweat.

Every day is a hydration challenge.

Right now 1 1/2 gallons average...heavy activity summer days I can easily do 2x that.

Water and black coffee are all I drink 355 days a year. On special occasions I enjoy a nice beer/cider.

I consume wine, so I need to up my water. I get bored with it. I started doing pitchers with lemons.

That’s a lot of damn water!

I'm a big dude.

6'4" and even at my leanest with hip bones starting to show I was still 216 lbs.

Average build/maintenance exercise I stay about 12-14% body fat and 230~ish lbs.

I read that those guidelines actually were total liquids. Soup, fruit, tea, whatever!

For me it varies. I always start my day with either tea or Diet Coke. I need the caffeine! After that I try to drink only water or maybe some hot tea if it's cold in the house.

Normally I drink tap water by refilling my Diet Coke bottle. I usually fill it 3-4 times so somewhere around 2 quarts. Now on a hot day I might drink more and if having sex, I will usually drink another 16 or so ounces. I get rather vocal during sex and do a lot of panting. Makes my mouth and throat dry.

How vocal do you get when properly hydrated?

I can bring some proteins and electolytes by non typical sources but the rest is up to you.

Well that's true however if those fluids contain salt or a diuretic such as the caffeine in tea although there's less tea and caffeine in tea I think thin coffee you have to increase your intake to cover that sodium or the water that you lose.

What I like about playing water though is I know for absolute certainty that there's absolutely nothing in it there are no chemicals there no preservatives there's nothing that my kidneys are going to need to flush out and everything that my kidneys need to flush other toxins out of my body.

You need a soda stream. (Do you have soda streams there?)

Soda stream the wine.

Brilliant!

I need to learn to appreciate wine; my son-in-law has inherited a vineyard in the south of France. Probably need a little tutorial on baccarat as well.

That's a healthy set of kidneys in an awfully big bladder. I remember I used to have to do the pee into a gatorade bottle thing when I was on that truck cuz you get on these half hour long runs uphill and there's just absolutely nowhere that you can pull over. I've heard of guys just putting the hand retarder on going downhill and stepping out to the deck and peeing off the edge for the truck Lumbers down the mountain at 8 miles an hour. My bladder capacity definatly improved. Now from the time it feels like well I really need to find a restroom to okay now I absolutely have to pull over and use the restroom I can usually go a couple of hours.

I was once parked on a ramp during a blasting delay in there are trucks in front of me trucks below me there's cameras in the area and there just was no way to take a leak off the edge so I opened up the engine compartment and I peed down past the engine careful to avoid hitting the exhaust system and I got a call over the radio by someone behind me telling me to get down and check out my truck because I've got some kind of a leak going on

hey...

daily: 1.2 gal water
12oz. fresh fruit juice
4-10, 4oz cups of coffee
3, 4oz cups of licorice tea or green tea

I have no idea because I drink a lot of tea, fruit juice and (everything free except CO2 and flavorings such as citric acid) sparkling water...

In general I tend not to drink anything besides water, so usually about 1/2 - 1 gallon a day. More towards 1 in the summer. Some days I drink less.

I'm not a hot beverage person and I hardly ever have juice, outside of mimosas or sangria. Can't drink milk anymore and I don't drink soda - I'd much rather eat my calories. Oh, I do drink one or two glasses of bone broth a day in the winter when I have it made.

I survive on water and coffee.

At a guess, probably, something over 2 liters; although that'll depend on time of year, actives etc.

Woof!

My name aint Daily. That's a whole other asshole.
That being said, I got no idea how much I drink. Enough to not be thirsty.
