okay - go to the stories start page, click on log-on, and then on the far left, there's a blue-shaded section. Click on submissions, and then on view, and there should be a chart kinda thingy towards the bottom of the page.

WHOA--okay, another question. So the numbers that are listed, in order, are the rating, the number of votes, the...ID number?, the category, the date submitted, and the approval status?

If so, I have had 83 PEOPLE VOTE--holy crap. That means at LEAST 83 people have read my story! Dios mio!

Probably a lot more than 83 because most people don't vote. That is a lot of votes, considering it has been posted only abut a month or less. What catgory of story is it?

Just wanted to tell you that the "large number" isn't an ID number, that is the number of hits (or views) your story has had. Format is - RATING, NUMBER OF VOTES, NUMBER OF VIEWS...

Thanks to all who commented on the 'trolls' consoling to know that others also grit their teeth and curse when a high rated story comes on and then gets slapped down. I too wonder what the motive is beyond just plain meanness....

This happened to me recently; straight fives from the first 15 voters or so, and then wham!

I figured it had to be something like what's been described here, but...

What the hell motivates trolls, generally, anyway?
Why are there so many of them?

Jealousy, insecurity, and overall idiocy are my guesses.

I've recently had the experience, and so have some others, where someone that objected to what we said in the forums purposely bombed the stories we all had up. Just last night, as a matter of fact.

I guess they think it hurts. I dunno.
