How many Rap CDs do you own?

I own blues, bluegrass, southern rock, jazz, country, hard rock, heavy metal, folk, alternative, and Christmas music cds but no rap, not one rap or rap hybrid act

I like MC Hammer. Maybe I can find his cd on ebay. Be great for the Nordic Track workout..

Since the age of CD burners, I dont buy many CDs now.

But, if this counts, more than 50% of my downloaded music is rap.

25% R&B/pop/HipHop

25% Other.

i own maybe 200 CDs and around 400 vinyl LPs

but no rap

nope...don't have to look...i'm sure there's not even one

and writerdom, i just brought home a nordic track from my mom's house...found it folded up in a closet...now if i can only figure out how to set it up.....

ropes and a wheel thingie and a thick rubber strap...hope it still works

LOL--the only rap thing I won is an old MC Hammer cassette tape.

If you want it, I'll let you have it. (If I can find it--my kid was playing with it not too long ago.)

naw, but thanks, I can only program cd's. Haven't tried downloading songs. That might be the best bet. I have the cd burner but never tried it out.

probably one - Whodini "best of"

Friends and Five Minutes of Funk are on there, that's all I wanted it for.

I've got a Beastie Boys CD somewhere and that's about it. I sure liked that Crazy Train song "Butterfly" though. Cypress Hill is pretty good, but I never bought a CD--remember "Insane on the Brain!"?

That's easy, I don't even have to look. The answer is "zero."

Hrm...rap...0! And I only have 1 rap song on my computer...Raise up by Petey Pablo.

Somewhere around 100......

Dom, you'll never get with a thick soul sista if you keep this up.

Maybe you could hook up with Cheyenne instead. You guys could talk about how things use to be, eat fat back, and then you could beat her with a rubber hose and call her 'nilla.

Public Enemy - Apocalypse 91

I didn't buy it. I borrowed it from a HS friend in 1992 and never returned it. I wanted it for the Anthrax song, but the CD is actually pretty good I think. Chuck D has a powerful voice. I hate Flavor Flav though.

Rap could be good back in the day, and sometimes it is ok now. Missy Elliot is cool. 99.9% of rap that people listen too (Thong Song guy JayC Usher hmmm that Must be the money guy, etc.) is utter shit! It's a lower form of art. Same could be said about Pop I guess, but at least that unbearable rap attitude is not part of the package. I hate the black man's voice too, unless it is distinctive like Chuck D's. Chuck D would say to me on that: "Kiss my ass, cracker!" I know :)

There's no accounting for taste!

i have a lot more rap on mp3s than on cd. i don't think rap is that bad... i don't listen to some of the more heavy stuff where every third word is bitch or nigger... but hip-hop is fun music.

I met a critic
I made her shit her draws
She said she tought Hip Hop was only guns and alcohol
I said "Oh hell naw!" but yet it's that too
You can't discrimahate because you done read a book or 2

So who is your favorite?

As I've said anytime this subject comes up, P.E. practically re-invented the genre.

Of the later stuff, I'd say Wu-Tang clan.

But I still have a penchant for older shit like Afrika Bamabataa.

a hundred? Doesn't get redundant?

There are soul sista's that perfer white meat.

Elwood: Er.. what kind of music do you usually have here?
Claire: Oh we got both kinds. We got Country, and Western.

I believe I own LL Cool J - All world, Lil' Kim - Hardcore, an old Slick Rick CD and a couple of Beastie Boys cds if they even count.

I do however own thousands of punk remakes of rap songs. You've never heard Gin & Juice till you hear a white boy rapping it to a punk rock beat.

RAP?

sorry, that stuff i dont own.
i enjoy the old funk like the Ohio Players, Parliment and such but no rap.
