My wife has 12 pairs of shoes..I have 3.
I know that some women have more...but why?

As a person you should want to look good. You should appreciate some one that is trying to do so.

My mother got about 30 heels and flats that she never even wore yet. I have a nice sneaker collection too.

Being nicely dress boast your confidence. And everyone needs a little confidence.

The thread would make more sense to me if started & continued mainly by women (exchange of info, etc.)
But within it's current format :confused:

I do not have a lot of wearable shoes. I have flip-flops and I have work shoes.

Lately, I can only wear the style of shoes that I use for work.
I can not buy a lot of these shoes because they are expensive.

i have a pair for work, a pair for not work, a pair of flip flops, and 2 pairs of heels

What's a shoe collection got to do with looking good?

Confidence in what you're wearing is more about dressing appropriately than it is about how 'nice' it is.

Why? It's a simple question....

How does "How many pairs of shoes does a woman need?" somehow less confusing when a woman types out the same fucking thing? Are you really that sexist and bigoted?

OP: IDK it confuses the fucking shit out of me.

I have flips flops, PT shoes, over priced oxfords for my overpriced suit, and my trusty ol' Redwing black letha boots. Never needed more than that.

I love these, but for some reason Danskos don't work on my feet. Even if I'm part Danish. Although I guess they are now US based.

I have way too many pairs of shoes, and I don't even consider myself a shoe fanatic. I'm always looking for the ultimate dress shoes that I can wear for work, walk two miles in, and are still at least somewhat sexy.

Need? Zero.

Want? Well, more than I have now. How many? Too dang many. I can't even find a pair of silver camo Sperry's I've yet to wear.

Wedges are perfect for this. I can wear them while on my feet all day.

wtf BB? been sniffing glue?
I was just wondering about the OP's intentions (is he implying that his wife has too many shoes)? I did not intend to attack any women within this thread

And BTW: 12 pairs of shoes are Not a high number, if one takes into account the fact that the quality of medium-priced shoes tends to be generally poor nowadays (even designer shoes are made in China, and most of them have man-made inner).
One could indeed do with fewer pairs, but only if they were good shoes (good leather + leather inner)

Thanks, Aglaopheme! I do have a pretty good pair of wedges that wore all over DC on memorable day... But they are only wearable for about 3 months of the year where I live, and it's getting to the end of that season here. Any other ideas? Maybe some boots?

I had a boyfriend long ago who bought me saddle shoes...I don't think I ever wore them in public... but I think only a select subset of men find those sexy.

I have 5 (running shoes, ballet flats, casual shoes (2), flip flops), but I would rather be barefoot. I need a pair of boots for this winter.

I'd like a pair of moccasins.

The shoes/sneakers is the key to the outfit. You can't have on some nice clothes with some raggedy ass sneakers. It's not going to work.

A cute person can dress like a bum and look fucked up. A ugly person can dress nice and look decent.

I have at least 50 pairs of shoes and boots. Sandals, thongs, Birkenstocks, closed toe heels, summer heels, flats, clogs, tennis shoes, exercise shoes, flat boots, heeled boots, snow boots, rain boots, fishing boots, hiking boots, gardening shoes. I'm sure I forgot some.

I love saddle shoes. They're just classic.

The weather is the same here. I have several pair of wedge boots that are super comfy.

I have tried all kinds of shoes for work, and I always go back to Dansko, or Sanita. I am not sure why they don't work on your feet, unless you are wearing them too small. It's weird, if there is not about a 1/2 inch between the heel and the shoe-- it is too small.

Why you should not wear Dansko.

I found this article and realized my pain in the foot might be from wearing Dansko all the time at work. I can't even wear any other shoes without my foot hurting! Now, here I am confined to Dansko and clogs for the rest of my life. At least I found a red pair.

You're talking about dressing nice in sneakers.....I'm sorry everything further you say on the subject is invalid because you obviously don't know how to dress yourself like a fuckin' man.

Men don't wear sneakers when they dress nicely.....that's some punk ass kid shit.

Here's the dickhead shit again. That's because your punk ass don't know how to throw it on. You probably wear $20 sneakers. Chucks and simple shit like that. I pay $250 for most of my sneakers. $190 the lowest, beside from forces. Swagg means something to me. Maybe not to you.

I don't wear slacks and suits and shit like that.
