Its illegal to own a handgun here in Australia (unless you are a member of a shooting organisation) but to be honest even if we were allowed to have them I still woudn't.

I have a healthy respect of guns and believe that they should not be allowed in the hands of the general public.

pro-marxman for pistol with the NRA -----guess that means I can hit what I aim at

Right now I have 11 handguns and 8 rifles. But, I am a gunsmith. That's not counting the ones that belong to customers

No not really, it would be plain stupidity to break ALL the rules wouldn't it?

I have several each of handguns, rifles, and shotguns.

I have a healthy respect for all firearms and feel that no law abiding citizen should be without one.

Smith & Wesson 669
and could you use it.
How bad you want to find out? :D Daddy was an instructor on the Marine Corp Rifle & Pistol Team for several years and won a gold medal in the Pan-Am games when I was little. We learned from the very beginning that guns aren't toys, but Dad learned well from his parents as well.

Grandma jokes that she was a little bit retarded because she didn't get her first .22 until she was 6. Different world back then (1915). Grandpa worked for the U.S. Forestry Service and the CIA and was well-trained in use and safety. My uncle was a cop (and "ex"-Marine), and his daughters grew up shooting. One was a state champ for several years, and they've both raised families in households with guns, and so is my brother and his wife. So far, no shooting "accidents" in our family.

Communication and education.

Except for breaking a few speed limits now and then

I am a law abiding citizen. Why would I need one?

I own both handguns and rifles. Yes I do know how to use them. I have 22 years miliatry experience with weapons. The job I have now is with local government and I have a concealed carry permit.

i do and i have...never had to bust a cap but i've stopped two breakins of my home and one of my pickup with it...used to live in a pretty dangerous part of dallas...

Hmmmmmmmmmm, badly stated. "Why would I want one?" might be better.

If you 'need' one and don't have one. Well, I guess you could tell people that you had a real bad day, if you survived.

Truely, I'm scared of guns and some of the people who own 'em.

Several of each......

I own several of each and DO have a concealed carry permit.

I also know a gun is only as good as the person behind it! It is a tool, that may be used for good or bad.

A well armed society is a safe society. If a CRIMINAL wants guns, no gun laws will keep them from getting them.

Well there ya go Mona. I'm afraid of some of the people that have guns too. That's why I have one.

Got 2 shotguns. My old crackbarrel .410 gauge squirrel gun given to me by my grand pappy and a Remington 1100 28" modified choke.

Haven't fired them in years (don't hunt anymore).

Hate pistols. They were made to put holes in people.

I don't own any hand guns but I certainly can use a gun if I must. I can shoot in approxamately 3.5 to 4 inch shot pattern from 75 yards with a normal .22 rifle that has no special zoom scope or anything.

But I don't care for guns much. Swords are soo much nicer and require a lot more skill.... *wink*

You're not helping the gun problem.:(

I want to protect myself as much as the next person, but guns are way too dangerous.
Innocent people get killed way too often.

Guns make me so nervous. When I was about 16 my Mom made me go with her to a shooting range so she could learn how to fire a gun and while I was a really good shot I was always afraid I'd kill myself or someone else, I can't even be in a room with one now. I could never live in a house with both children and guns.

Not everyone should carry a gun, just like not everyone should drink. I don't own a gun and I don't want too, as I am way too violent as it is without one. At least when I punch people, they'll be alright in a few hours.
