How many drafts do you have?

What are the thoughts or norms on the ethics of using what is "put out there" in the "story ideas forums." Obviously nobody "owns a trope." It seems that "ideas" and "concepts" would likewise be free. But what about paraphrase or short quotes (up to a few sentances or so). It also seems obvious that if one "rewrote" somebody's partly completed work there would exist joint authorship. Or, editorship if one "just edited?"

Personally, if I put them in the story ideas forum, then they are free for anyone to use, even if they never rewrote the part I put out there.

I would also include with each one a disclaimer giving up my rights to the story.

Or you could do what I did with oggbashan stew 1-4.

They seem to be well received and I'm free of them...

I thought of that, but some are just a beginning and a thought on how it should end, with no middle. Then other are shy of the ending I thought of as the characters ran off with the middle to some place else.

To a reader it would all be very confusing unless they could see inside my head.

Some of mine that I have posted are like that - but the readers don't seem to mind.
