How many cavities/fillings have you had?

I've had a perfect damn dental record until yesterday, when I was informed I have a "soft spot" forming into a cavity that I have to get filled. Needless to say I was adequately pissed, up until now I was the only person in my family that i know of with a clean dental record. Now I have nothing to be proud of :(

Geez pick on the new guy, stop making fun of my accent Miz Thug.

I have some fillings. They are in my molars. They add weight to my head, making me more intellegent. Right?

I am 39 years old, and have never experienced dental freezing...only dental work I have ever had done was having my wisdom teeth removed, and that was done under a general.

How many fillings/crowns/bridges/root canals have you had?

At the time my natural teeth were removed and I got a full set of dentures, I had more different types of metal in my mouth that the average metalurgical lab.

I got my first filling in the mid-1950's and had a filling in nearly every tooth by 1970, some theth had as many as three distinct filllings. What do you need to know, bearing in mind that my experincs with Dentists ended some 25 years ago and procdures and materials have improved since then.

I've never had any dental work. Had my wisdom teeth extracted by an oral surgeon. That stuff they knock you out with, in the IV... I LOVE that stuff!

I only have one filling and I don't want others. I am scared shitless of needlesn (sp). My dentist wants me to take out the 2 wisdom tooth I have and I said no way jose I will die with them!

Shheeesssh now i feel so bad...I have too many fillings, plus two crowns....

No more cavities than the typical human male. As far as getting them filled, I'm really not into that sort of thing...

;)

no fillings...and i only have 2 wisdom teeth in my head that i have to get out soon.

ouch!

I had a cavity that I was not aware of to the extent of dmage to the tooth. I was at work one day and chewed on something I was eating. Next thing I felt was a pop and a crunch, my tooth had shattered and my mouth was bleeding, ouch! I had the dentist the next day extract the root and fill it up, yuck! Now I have a molar that needs pulling, double yuck!

Fillings are easy, I've been having cavities (LOTS of them) filled since I was two years old. I never have had my mouth frozen for a simple filling- the drilling really doesn't hurt. It hurts less than getting needles stuck in your gums to do the freezing.

At this point, I have had most of the teeth with multiple fillings crowned instead. Dental insurance covers a couple of teeth per year, so I have been at this for awhile. I now have more crowns than natural teeth. And I DO have my mouth frozen for crowns as they need to drill way to close to the nerve to prepare the tooth.

Root canals are erie.
There's something about feeling and watching a dentist drill part of you out while you lay on a chair with strobe lights blaring in your eyes. I remember watching blood spirt out of my mouth while he chatted about stocks with the assistant and thinking how surreal life could be.

I've had about 4-6 fillings. One the dentist did in porcelian so he could use the extra to fix my lower front tooth. The thing grew in with a huge chip gone (I don't remember breaking it so it had to have come in that way). No one really ever knew since when you smile your top teeth cover the lower ones and when I talk my lower ones usually don't show all that much. After having it fixed though I realized how much I did care about it, even if people didn't see it. I had braces so my teeth were really straight and then this helped to make my smile "perfect".

I hate having fillings done but I'm glad they use like ambusol before jabbing the needle in.

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed. I woke up while they were pulling the last one---didn't open my eyes and didn't feel anything but I knew what was going on and grabbed the arm of the chair, or maybe it was the assistant since she told me to go back to sleep (and I quickly did).

Not a single filling in all of my life...but a ton of orthodontic work to straighten them up. Also had all my wisdom teeth removed with the IV thing.

You're right Myst, that stuff rocks!!

Hey!! I still have all 4 of my wisdom teeth!!!!! ........ errrrrrr well most of em anyways...
ah wells
