What accepted method of ID is free? If none, which is cheapest and what is the cost?

Varies by state, but there is generally at least one that's totally free. Even if it's only free for low income.

You don't need an ID for any of those things. It's a requirement by the particular state but you rarely need one to actually make a purchase.

Many liberals argue that getting legitimate identification is just too much of a burden in the course of day to day life, especially for minorities, seemingly hinting that such a task might be beyond their skill set or that they live in areas where 'lectricity and other modern conveniences haven't yet made an appearance.
I'm sure it makes you feel warm all over knowing that Mr. Schumer in real life and Kirkrapine and a host of others here on Lit are protecting you, patting you on the head and promising to protect you from those who believe you are capable of participating in adult activities.

This is an issue that make no sense to me.

The last time I had to show my ID was to get a new ID.

That's a true story. Pretty much the only time I ever use it is if I have to get it renewed or like, if I go to buy smokes and the person doesn't know me. Because apparently my almost 30 ass looks like a teenager.

I've never in my life needed an ID to cash a check. I don't know why that would be a thing. I started working when I was 15- like... there was no way to get an ID. I never had a problem getting them cashed except the first one because I signed it in the wrong place. I had never cashed a check before. I didn't know how they worked.

I've also never needed an ID to board a plane. Just my ticket. But I've never traveled internationally, so that might be the difference.

I've had to have it occasionally to buy smokes, as I mentioned, and it's an ego boost every damn time, but normally they just ask your birthday. You gotta get a real hardass or someone who straight up hates you or is hitting on you to get an ID. Like if you're getting smokes and they ask for your ID there's a secondary reason. It's not that they need it. I've sold them before, all you really need is the birthday, that's all the POS asks for. If they wanna look at your ID they wanna look at your ID.

A guy or woman can walk down the street open carrying an AR15 or handgun and yet law enforcement aren't allowed to question them or ask them for ID (without suspicion of them commiting a crime), because it infringes their rights* and yet you wan't to force people to present ID to be able to vote?, you really couldn't make it up.
