How many BDSM’ers are out there?

While browsing the Internet I found this very ‘interesting’ site.

Miss Taken, I think that it goes something like this.

I'd rather be free of the allergies, but I can't manage that yet. ;)

MissT, according to one who wishes to serve me, the walls of a woman's sex tighten when she sneezes. It's a trick that can be done on command or when one coughs, I believe.

I was just thinking how lovely it would be to have a pet devoted to keeping me in Kleenex. :D

What's a WAM fetish?

And I don't know that I'd call BDSM a fetish, anyway. A fetish is supposed to be something that a person can't get off without - a true foot fetishist needs feet to be incorporated somehow in order to get off. True, the definition has been warped and tends to be just something people really like in a sexual way, but that's what it's supposed to be. BDSM is definitely not a fetish for me - my girlfriend and I have vanilla sex all the time, and it's awesome. Yes, I prefer submission to equality, but I don't need it. Calling something a fetish also tends to signal to society that a person is weird for liking it.

You make a very serious point Etoile. I agree with you, like to you BDSM is not a fetism to me. BDSM is my lifestyle.

I did put the numbers up more as an interesting fact to discuss.

I knew the numbers were wrong!! No way it is only 336 million people. Is not everyone involved in BDSM?. ;)

Interesting though, just before I go to sleep:
The population of the U.S. on April 1, 2000 was 281,421,906. We are bigger we need to create a BDSM NATION.

Problem would be what kind of political system would we have?

Dictatorship:
Hmm think lots of dominants would go for that position and in the end it would mean fewer dominants which would make the subs unhappy which would in turn make the doms unhappy which would lead to general feeling of unhappiness. Good for the over population factor though and of course I think I would be the best dictator.

Democracy:
Well every dominant would need to have their own political party, which then would lead to major arguments, which then could lead to civil war, which would again be good for the over population. But would make the subs unhappy ….

Anarchy:
Basically the only way we could all live together without cutting ourselves to shreds. But it would make running a country so difficult if everyone was only responsible for their own acts and would have absolute freedom. That could lead to a lot of very disinterested doctors, nurses you name it which again would be good for the over population.

OK so maybe we should not have a BDSM nation. Wait I forget one system feudal one, That is it! I will become the emperor of the BDSM Nation and together we will conquer the world. Under my guidance of course!

You know we could make our own political system, call it BDSM and elect a council of the most influencial and experinced Dom/mes, say about 12 in all, and their subs could be the back benchers or Council Whips, and take the whole thing back to its begingnnings, and take out the political correctness, and live by the law of the the land, that would be put to gether with the help of the subs and we should be able to make it a D/s nation pretty well, Just think the ceremony of the rose, would be recognised for what it is, and instead of inviting your guest to a wedding,, hehehe i thinks if we all put out heads to it could work!!
But would rather an elected leader not a self appointed one, no offence Cisco, but to make it fair,, who knows you might be elected Chairman,,,, hehehe:devil:
 
When i first read this poll, and it said "BDSM related fetishes" my first thought was "BDSM isn't a fetish!".. but then as i thought about it..

i think perhaps they are saying "BDSM elements that people have that are fetishes"

I don't think so - sounds too complex. I think it was just a simple poll, and they stated it wrong.

I know that "lesbianism" is listed in my code book. (Code referring to the codes used by insurance companies to refer to your illness(es) in their computer databanks.)

"Worn out" is also listed. I never found the right patient to use that one on though....
