How many are fakes?

My wife and i have a thread in the APF http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=692326 Someone accused us of posting fake pictures that are not ours. Does these accusations come up often? I have always thought of Literotica of a higher quality of people. I know its a porn site but I always held the members in higher regard then someone just looking at videos and pictures.
I'm not sure why I let it bother me but it does. I'm just looking for some feedback.

Of course people post fakes, a lot of people might be too shy to post their own pictures and then there are the people who try to pimp out their own porn. But I like to believe the best in people

I think that is my biggest problem. I always try to see the good in people and expect them to look for the same.

Yes, there have been a lot of fakes at Lit. There are those who have been here for long (longer than me, anyway) who can spot a fake right away and say, "Hey, isn't this GirlX from yearX?" Some have proven their "realness" by making a signature pic which says "I love Lit" or "Hi from UserX" - either carrying the sign or written on a body part. You could try to do that if you care about being a "real" poster or not.

Talking about fakes...

For a huge example of the type and scope of some fairly recent fakes, in a highly trafficked thread, involving long-term posters, at least one of whom (Sherryagain) had posted a signed pic, of the type the lovely ShaiGirl has suggested. Check out this post in the Show Your Tits!!!! thread. The thread has since, somewhat recovered, but the originator(s) have not posted any more pics recently and never directly answered the charges.

I've seen pics of Sherryagain (great tits, ass and legs - great everything!) and I didn't know that there was an issue of her being fake or not. I also didn't know about the issue of Vandygal and that thread. Once again, I bow to your superior knowledge on Lit history and linking skills, Wanton! Oh... the things one learns from these boards...
