How long's the wait for story approval these days?

Is your story a contest entry? If so, it will probably be posted sometime today or tomorrow. If it isn't, it will take up to a week or more because posting time when contests are going on is more than normal.

Since you asked the question this morning at 4:14AM you most likely will not really get a response until late in the afternoon. However, I will try.

If the story is a Halloween Contest Story, and you missed the opening, now it will fall into the three (Hahahahahahah Yeah, right!) catagory.

If the story is not a Contest Story then after the contest is over at the end of October, the story will go in line with all the others. And begin it's five to fifteen day wait in the que. If, by chance, the Editors know you, you might get bumped up in the line, but most likely not.

The problem is this: you asked the QUESTION. That means by asking and not searching the thousands of threads titled "How long does it take" you are being punished. This very well could mean the end of the line for weeks to come if not years.

Sorry. That's the way it works.

Of course she's not serious. The FAQ now says 3-7 days, I think. It just might take a little longer now, with the contest. But I think that 7 days is still probably the outside.

You obviously haven't 'been here long enough to appreciate Jenny's response to THE QUESTION. People have been hauled to the Tower for less. Today was relatively mild. 4 on a scale of 1-10.

Non-contest entries are usually delayed even more than the normal wait.

However the answer to The Question is at least one day longer than the author thinks is reasonable, plus another day, and even longer if the sheep have their backs to the wind.

And by the way, folks-- for months now, when I try to access search, my browser wants to know what to do with the PHP file I am downloading-- instead of showing me the results in the browser window. Maybe it's a mac/firefox thing?
