Hey, I'm new to the site. Obviously, and I submitted a story. I am anxious to here what people think of it, but it is still under review. I just have to ask if anyone knows approximately how long this will take? Thanks.

Oh, my - THE question.

Usually around a week, although my last one only took 5 days. The waiting's the worst, isn't it?

Unfortunately, yes. Sometimes longer if there's a big backlog of stories they have to go through.

Patience - it'll be fine. :)

If only there were a crying smiley on this forum. Because that is what I would like to do now. *sigh* (Please excuse my feminine side, it gets the best of me sometimes.)

Hello Dream Keeper and welcome to the ownderful world of waiting. It is awful. I click on my submissions every day from submitting a story just in case and everytime it's not there I growl with frustration. The buzz when the story is accepted tohugh is a massive buzz!

Let us know when your story hits the lit front pages ;)

I pity you impatient people

When a paper publisher takes up some of your work, you are going to be in the looney bin in a matter of days. It can take over a year from acceptance to publishing on paper. It never takes less than three months and you lot can't wait a week?

THE question indeed. As cloudy stated, a week is a pretty average time for it to come out. There is, in my experience, a more important issue than how long it takes a story to actually get posted. That is the issue of which day of the week, and even what time of the year. Frankly, one of my best stories - in my humble opinion - got posted on the Friday of a three day weekend, and on the second page of new submissions. It suffered from not being seen by many people who were away, and by the fact that you had to go to the second page of new stories that particular day. It was very frustrating. It also did not help that the formating of the story was all screwed up as well.

When your story does get posted, be sure to provide a link directly to it from this forum, or provide a link to your home page where people can find all the stories you may write.

The next concern you will have is voting and feedback. My advice is don't get hung up on the voting, and always send thanks to anyone who give feedback and leaves an e-mail address. It just seems polite. Anonymous feedback sucks.

Good luck with your story.

Ah finally. My story was uploaded to a site. Sadly it was not this site, apparently this site takes a bit longer. Hehe. Anyway, I have the link if anyone would like to read it before it is posted on literotcia. Here it is. ;)

My story. :D

Feel free to tell me what you think about it here in the forums, or in the comments section of that website. Thanks!

Just be glad you didn't submit it to one of those check-out line rags like True Romance. That could take more than a year.

Hmmm. I guess people don't like it. http://graphics.gaiaonline.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_sweatdrop.gif Could anyone suggest something that would be better, since you obviously disliked this story? I'm clueless.

Patience is definitely not one of your virtues, is it? ;)

For myself, the genre isn't one I have any interest in. Hopefully, once it's posted here, you'll get more feedback. There's a whole forum devoted to that...:D

Wow. I didn't realize how bad that story was when I wrote it the other night. http://graphics.gaiaonline.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_gonk.gif Somebody slap me! Hopefully I can make up for it with the sequel... God that was aweful. No description whatsoever. I'm such an idiot. I even wrote about the football team captain. Oh my god, how unoriginal is that. Maybe I won't even do a sequel. I can't bear to show my face on this site again. Please do not read this story, anyone!!! http://graphics.gaiaonline.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_sweatdrop.gif

Aw, it can't be that bad, can it? If you're feeling that unsure of it, have you considered pulling it before it posts and asking one of the volunteer editors take a looksee?

waiting is a bitch...

tell me, how long does it bloody take to get someone to at least VIEW your story? its been DAYS!
