If Trump doesn't get the nomination and/or gets the nomination and doesn't win in November, its very likely that the political spectrum will never be the same.

There almost certainly will be a new America First party emerge from the ashes of the Trump movement.

It may not become a dominant force or win many elections but it will be a disruptive force, especially for the GOP and the big business donor class.

I predict within a year we will see the initial framework of a new party start to emerge on the nationalist center.

Those of you who will say "great, just means liberal Democrats will dominate everything all the time" well they do that now, so what's the difference?

The thing is that it will have reverberations across the political spectrum. Say for example the rump GOP is forced to adopt some America first positions to compete with it and this drives away Big Business donors to the Democrats. The Democrats openly embrace them, this will lead to economic leftists possibly starting a fourth party of the far left.

It will have unintended consequences. No doubt. Plus it will be a hell of a lot of fun.

American voters shouldn't be concerned.

The panic over the German Regional elections and the rise of UKIP in the UK is over-dramatised.

People will vote for nationalist parties as a protest but not in sufficient numbers to let them form a government. The only similar party coming even close is Marine Le Pen's nationalist party in France.

The impact of such parties is to split the main right wing party and to hand elections to the left.
