How long is too long

I've written a few stories I've saved. Being new to writing here, though I've enjoyed this site for 7 years, I have a newbie question.
How long is too long for a story? I'm afraid one of the stories I've written may be too long to post. I'm not exactly sure how many pages it would figure out to here, but I'm sure it's somewhere between 5 to 7 pages.
Is this too long to hold reader's interest?

Really there is no such thing as too long. In fact I've detected that there is correlation (though I suspect it isn't quality driven) between length of story and rating. The longer your story the higher the rating simply because anybody willing to read twelve pages must be in love with your story.

I have read and re-read it making changes and correct errors at least a dozen times. I hope this work is decent. I know I'm getting better than the first one

First off, 6-7 pages on Word equals one page on Lit. There was literally a story posted a few weeks ago that was around 50 pages, a sci-fi story. So your story isn't too long in that sense.


But if you think it's too long for a reader's attention, just break it down into chapters.


And as as I'm concerened, 90% of the Lit stories that are 5-7 pages are too long and have too much filler and unnecessary detail. The only stories that I think are perfect and don't need trimming down are "Service" and "Replacing my Cum Bucket" (incest stories, they're in my favorites section if you want to read them easily).


I have a story that's 3 pages, and another story that's broken up into 3 chapters which is about 5 pages long. I decide whether to break up a story or not based on the flow. If the entire story flows, then keep it. If the story evolves, then break it into chapters.



If you need any advice on how to post the story or anything like that, let me know.

I don't think there is such a thing as tooooo long, I have a friend whose story I am helping to proof read and edit.. when in Word it is 500 pages.. so i'm thinking you are good.

It depends on the story and if it becomes boring with unnecessary detail or not.


If it's incest, it would be perfectly understandable since it needs build up.

I'm trying to write my stories with a little sex throughout building to the big climax at the end.
