How long does pending status last?

I submitted 3 stories last January and IIRC they got approved right away. I have a new story submitted and it's been pending for over a week. Is this normal? Thanks!

I think they're extra busy at the moment, probably giving the Halloween contestants priority. In my experience "normal" is four days...

Normal is between 4 days to 8 days if there is a contest running. There is only one person vetting the stories and there are a lot of stories submitted each day.

Don't worry, your story will appear soon enough, unless you click the pending link and then the submit button. Then your story goes to the end of the que again.
