I submited a story about a month ago. It is still not aproved. How long does it actually take? If a story has been submited and rejected shouldn't I get a pm, or email?

A month is q bit longer thanthe 48-72 hours that's normal.

Did you submit throughthe Copy and Paste text box or a text file, or did you submit in Word Document or Rich Text Format?

If your story has special formatting needs -- Italics, bold, or pictures to link -- then it takes longer normally and especially longer this past month because Laurel has been on the road with limited access to the site for maintenance.

E-mail or PM Laurel and ask what the hold-up is. A month is too long.

Thanx

I sent the story through email, because some one said it would be easier and faster. I don't think it was in a special text. Just regualr times roman. My favorite font. By the way, does Laura have a nick, or how do I pm her? I am kinda new at the pming thing.

Laurel gets tons of e-mails every day and that's probably the reason it's taking so long. I'm not positive, but I think she's only accepting e-mail submissions from WebTV users who can't cut and paste or attach files.

Your best solution at this point -- unless you're a WebTV user -- is to go through the submissions page and cut and paste your story into the text box provided or attach a pure text file with the browse button. In the notes/comments box, mention this is a resubmission of a story you sent via e-mail last month.

Submitting through the submission page let the site do most of the formatting needed to convert your story from text to HTML and relieves Laurel of that extra workload required to paste a story. It's the fastest way to get your story posted -- the 48-72 hours time frame I mentioned before.

To get to the storysubmission page, go to the "story index" link at the bottom of any BB page. Click "LOGIN" on the story index page and youshould be taken to your "member's page" where there is a link to "submissions" on the left hand side of the page.

Just follow the instructions from that point and you should be a published author by this time nxt week at the latest.

(there is also a "view submissions" link to allow you to check on your story's status and check votes and views when it does get posted.)
