How long does it take you to clean your humble abode?

Why didn't I think of that

Clean?? Now there's an idea!;)

Bits and pieces

And only when absolutely neccesary. Are we having company?
Why can't they make a house like an oven that self cleans?

4to 5 hours... are you not very thorough?

I do like to keep a place like wearing clean underwear in case of a car accident...I just Think and feel better in a clean and organized place...

If I come to Lit first....

never...

otherwise bits and pieces continuously.

Wash the tiles...Lit...Hoover the carpet...Lit...clean the bathroom...Lit...wash up...Lit.

God this housework is relentless!

I like that plan p_p_man.

And you're right housework is almost as relentless as lit.

If I have the right cd playing I can clean forever
it's very mind numbing

And to think he had the nerve to tell me to assert my masculinity!!:p

15 minutes every night is all it takes, just clean one thing.

also 80$ every two months for a maid:D

My place is never actually completely clean but never fully dirty either, I'm a messy person most of the time but every now and then I go nuts and clean like crazy, I have lots of stuff and not nearly enough room for it all.

I need a huge workshop/flat like artists used to have.

~still snickering and giggling and chuckling over this minutes and minutes after i first read it~

My housekeeper spends every single Friday (yes, like today), all day, cleaning my house.
I do dishes as necessary during the week.
I do most of the laundry, too (though she, Karen, my wonderful housekeepr, does some on Friday, if it's in the laundry room).
I sorta pick stuff up throughout the week.
My kids have to have their bedrooms and bathroom picked up and neatened before they go to bed on Thursday night so Karen can get in and do her job.

I *do not*, however, "clean" before Karen gets here, and never did so for the other housekeepers i've had. How will they know that i need them, that they're of value in my life, if they can't look around my house when they're done and *know* they've made a huge and positive difference in my life?

That's about it for me, for housecleaning.
I haven't cleaned a toilet in over 12 years and don't really feel like i'm missing much, to be honest.
;)

I live in organized chaos. A couple of weeks ago I had the really bright idea to put everything away. I spent all of the next day searching for things I had put away.

I tend to clean each room by putting my junk, I mean really important stuff, into the next room.

I'd have no idea how long it would take to clean the whole house. Years???

clean time

Considering I live in a flat there is only a couple of hours needed, but the kitchen is another story. I cook to no avail and I end up spilling and splashing the food and ingredients over the stove and table tops. If I really wanted to clean, I would organize my papers and receipts and that would take days. I think I will do tha tthis weekend though before it will end up taking weeks.

I worked in a buffet when I was in high school.
Now I can't cook without cleaning at the same time.
I am so compulsive that I wash the utensils and pans before I serve my family.
Drives them crazy.
But then, I get to everyone after a while!
Part of the charm. If I weren't so ruggedly handsome, my wife and daughter would move out on me!

I have no idea how long it takes to clean my entire house, since I think it's been years since every single room was clean at once! My housekeeper quit when she found out I have nude pictures on the Internet. *sigh* Gotta get me a kink friendly housekeeper.

if i get into cleaning this place it takes me at least 2 days to wash the walls and vacuuming, dusting cleaning mirrors etc.

You don't get rich by having a housekeeper anyway!

Unless, of course, you marry into a housekeeper.

Cleaning while there are parents in my house is as useless as shoveling the walkway during a snowstorm.
My bedroom is always tidy.

OMG, this is a funny issue around here.

Cleaning.... It is a sort of problem actually.

We are rennovating this house, yet it is full of 20 years worth of crap, and some really important antiques, so I am constantly shifting shit around. Well, for the longest time, we just kept the living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathrooms clean, and if I tried really hard, I could get that all done in about 6 hours. Now I've added trying to keep the dining room clean, even though it isn't a dining room yet. It has large peices of furniture waiting for the room I currently have as a sewing room, to become a storage room, once I am done rennovating the basement. I have 5 weeks left and am behind schedual, because summer fun keeps interfering.

I would say that if this were an organized house.... being that it is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath blah blah... it'd take me 12 hours to clean the whole damn thing from top to bottom. That includes cat box maintainance, but no outside work. *sigh* I am tired just thinking about it.
