I just submitted a story today....how long does it generally take for stories to be posted?

Depends, about 24 to 72 hours. Or so I've noticed.

Here's how it works (for the three of you out there who give a nut):
In the Laurels&ManusOnly part of LiteroticaLand, there's a list of all the submissions from all you kids. After posting the update (at around midnight pacific time every night - I start at 9pm, so the update takes me about 2/5-3 hours a night), I look at the remaining submissions list - usually about 40-50. I go through them one by one, reading them, and I put them on a list to be posted the next day. So that evening, at 9pm my time (midnight EST), I begin editing and posting the list from the night before. When I'm done, I make a new list based on the remaining stories.
So, any story submitted to me before midnight last night will be posted tonight. All the stories submitted between midnight and whenever I finish tonight's update will be posted tomorrow night. And so on.
Now, I try not to post more than 50 stories a night (except on Friday and Saturday nights I might up it to 60 if necessary, because I figure - rightly or wrongly - on the weekends people have more time to read.) If I make my list and there's 70 stories on it, I may leave some of the later submissions until the next day. Also, if I have a question about a story or if a story doesn't come through properly, that will delay its posting. I usually email the author as soon as I detect and error and/or have a question, and post it the night after they get back to me.
For anyone who feels that 24-72 hours is too long, I encourage you to ask some of the older authors around here about what 'long' really is. Before we implemented the new script, our backlog was 9 weeks, no joke. Hope this helps! If you have any questions, post em here or drop me an email!

Laurel, you amaze me. how in the worlod do you do it and remain sane? Must take lots of good luvin from Many to keep you going. I can't imagemine runing this place and doing a full time job, much less reading all the giberish that we send you. You are one very special lady. hugs and Kisses.

I had submitted first time recently and was just going to ask this exact same question (after searching for an answer in the FAQ)... then I thought nah, give it a few days.
