How long does it take for story "approval"

I am fairly new to this site. I have recently submitted a story. I am wondering, how long it normally takes for your stories to receive approval? I had trouble with msword doc and then deleted that after several days. I then submitted it using the "copy and paste" method. I am also interested in finding out, what is the best way to submit your story. Thanks for your help in this matter!

Copy/Paste or uploading plain text allows you to preview the story as it will appear on the site, so that's the best way to go about it. Those methods also result in faster approval, as they require less moderator work to post.

Approval times are generally 3-4 days for a normal text story, but first time authors always have a couple of extra days wait. Expect at least a week for your first/first couple of stories.

Also, audio or illustrated stories will take longer to post. Laurel tends to approve those on certain days of the week in groups.

If you ever click the "pending" link, it sends your story back to the rear of the queue again. So, once you've submitted, don't click that link again unless you need to make changes to the submission.
