they should just snap back on. Maybe you're not aligning it properly? I pry my keys off all the time to clean stuff (I'm clumsy) and they just snap right back on. I've never had aproblem with a regular computer or a laptop (unless I mess up where the buttons go

If it isn't easily snapping back into place, the key may be damaged. (I lost my tilda once ... but that's a story for another day.)

If it's a laptop Sarah, then there should be a separate little clippy thingy that hooks into the key-cover, then snaps onto the sprung levers around the grey button bit. Of course, I have the same problem with my pause/break key (not that useful at all) and have only managed to half snap it back on, so one side of it sticks up... but it's still usable and better than a smack in the face with a wet fish...
