The blood flow increases and the endorphins start flowing. Their faces turn red, the sweat starts rolling, their eyes and noses water and there's a fiery sensation that spreads across their tongues and down their throats.

"People actually get a crack-like rush," Duffy said. "I know the people who will eat the hottest stuff to get this rush, but they've got to go through the pain."

S&M Enchiladas anyone?

This goes along with something I heard today about a new Vodka that's flavored with hot chilli peppers. That must be one bitch of a bloody Mary.

Speaking of, the peppers proper name is Trinidad Scorpion Butch T pepper. ;)

A Butch's Scoville Heat Scale rating is 1,463,700 units ; a world record.

By way of comparison: Pepper spray's rated around 2-300,000 units (diluted for use) and Jalapeno peppers are rated at 3,500-8,000 units.

If you get a Butch near your eyes it will temporarily blind you and it's juice eats through rubber gloves.

Put that on your nacho and eat it. :D

That's a hot one.

When we were in Mexico a few years ago, my dad and husband went on a tour to Coba, I think, and on the way the guide had a really, really hot pepper. Mr Penn took a small bite and remembers it to this day. Hottest pepper he'd had in his life, and he likes thing spicy, but I think even he would beg off this one.

I grow peppers. I dont like peppers but lotsa people do. As a kid my pickled peppers won blue ribbons at the county fair, and could remove paint or rust or the stripes offa zebra.
