How fit are the bastards on here?...

Do we work out? Cycle? Have huge orgies? Or are we fat keyboard warrior wankers with diabetes?....
 
I work out three times a week and teach Karate once a week.

It used to be a lot more, too much more because I was kind of obsessive about it and for years I had trainers telling me to slow up. But I thought I knew better. I never worked out to get bigger, just stay tight and toned so figured, what could happen?

Age and breakdown happens. The last couple of years things have caught up with me. Had to have two bulging discs in my neck repaired and had surgery to fix a torn bicep last year. Also had both shoulders scoped for scar tissue recently.

Its not easy to start getting old.

But my neck is not for theirs nor ISIS or anyone else to strike at today.

My wife is twenty five years younger than me and I can outrun anyone I know and certainly Carl Lewis too today. I would definitely say that I am fitter and in much better shape than Bruce Jenner - also today, although he was and probably still is stubborn beyond belief when it comes to stamina.

I am not anyone you know but I have attended training camps with the world's greatest athletic coach bar absolutely none, Percy Wells Cerutty and he used to say - a real athlete, is an athlete for life. Which is true as far as I'm concerned.

I also was a Chinese Martial Arts instructor for seven years under literally the world's most revered classical masters including the late Chairman of the World Chinese Martial Arts Association Chan Hon Chung.

So yeah, I am pretty fit but also fairly lean and not overly-muscled. I would struggle in a fight with any of today's 'roidees. But you never know... I am pretty fast. I might be able to get something in that stung a lot and then run away very fast!
 
i'm a dumpy 55 year old grandmother. i don't run, never was cut out for it even fit as i was as a gymnast, swimmer, badminton player, trampolinist in school way too many years ago.

my job involves being on my feet and moving sacks, bags and boxes around every day inbetween computer work and shop stuff. my brain is considerably more agile than i am but my back, thighs and arms are pretty strong.

I would estimate that 70% of Lit posters are overweight to obese.

I get the logic in that. That said, everyone on here obviously have a high interest in sex and therefore have vested interest in looking good for either our lover or potential shags. Unless you're talking complete fantasists who just don't care for real world of course, of which I'm sure there are many...
 
Well, I don't have diabetes. So I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

I have no idea what percentage don't care for real world, but I do know a large percentage enjoy cyber, phone, role playing etc. Lots of people are getting fucked here too though. Regardless, most people here are fat. In fact 70% might be a bit low.

I understand not everyone can be an Adonis/ Babe. Also that working out can be a drag when it takes over your life and you thus become bores. But to display bravado and irreverence is simply kidding yourself. You owe it to yourself to keep reasonably fit for so many reasons, so wise up. Fuck me, I'm sounding earnest for once! Bet you all would rather the original dickhead...

I reiterate, 50 is new 20 these days. No excuses....

Why?

Live your life how you see fit. Some people like exercise, some don't. Some people like "unhealthy" food, some eat "healthy." We all die in a relatively short span of time, why not do what you enjoy?

The most fit and healthy person reading this post will be dead before the turn of the century - and so will the most "unhealthy" person.
 
I'm unfortunatly no where near as hard as I was @ 18-26...rather soft now, but no diabeetus yet so there is that.

If people don't want to work out and want to keep eating garbage, that is their business.

I believe that you should take care of your health, regardless of age/gender. A person in good health can more efficient in his/her day to day activites.

And most importantly, people should be comfortable in their own skin. That is very important in my line of profession, so I can't overlook it.

Depending on the season, and if I am training for a ride, I cycle 200-400 miles per month, and avg ~18-22 mph. Avg heart rate for 2-4 hours is in the mid 150's, peaking in the high 170's. Try not to do that for too long though, obviously.

Things slow down for football season, but I ride pretty much year round.
 
I've put on about fifteen pounds this summer due to being laid up with a knee injury. But now physical therapy seems to be taking hold, I'll start walking the flea bags again and should lose it all just in time to put five pounds back on at Thanksgiving.
