how does one gain karma

I think...

Karma is something to do with your creativity. And I believe you gain it when you create a new story and have it approved. I think it should build with every thread a person creates. The point of having this feature, I suppose is just for fun?

I might be wrong though. I haven't tried it yet.

So does it acually serve a useful purpose or do you just get more via the more stories you've created and got approved?

How do you try it?

I got the feeling the feature was not active yet. Has anyone seen their Karma rise from zero?

:D

hope not

With 19 stories under your belt, your karma should certainly be more than zero, jakelyon

I'm guessing Karma will just act as another way to screen who can write for your stories.

I've got 7 stories and I have a karma of 0....
so im not sure if its active yet
there's a problem, I cant write on some stories cos i think my karma is too low. mmm.... what do we do?

They've added the "karma filter" already, but I don't think you can gain karma yet... /shrug

Personnally, I put no filters on my stories. I'm intelligent enough to see if a thread fits in my story or not, be it from an experienced or new writer.

Can we contact the admin in anyway? ask them to disable karma filters untill they can activate karma accumulation?
And i agree, no need for Karma

Screening

I have used screening for Rock Festival but I chose the option so that people had to have wrote a couple of threads for other stories first, which seemed to be the only good option.

The rating screening would be ok but there are far too many people on Chyoo myself included who read a thread like it but don't bother rating them.

Screening based off how long a person has been a member is utterly pointless.

I agree with Bunga on this one. Don't use filters, that is what the editor is for. I would not want to exclude a first time author who might add a great thread to one of my stories.

:D
