How does Literotica Work?

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and can offer no perspective on my stated subject, but i was wondering about the site after reading many of the threads around here.

I've just begun my time here on the site. I've posted my first stories and found their acceptance (in spite of my own inadequcies) very exciting. Now, I have begun to explore the rest of the site.

I understand that there are several things called 'Boards'. I appreciate that there are authors and editors who volunteer to help others; which is always an amazing and wonderful thing to me.

I've seen people who must practically live on the Author's Hangout with thousands of posts to their credit, and each of them having amusing little titles that seem to fit their experience and 'mileage'.

I've heard of a couple of people who might be the heads of editorial, I think, called Laurel and Manu??

But is there something that I've missed? Is there a section of the site that realy describes how the place works? How the different sections interact? Who's in charge and where there are oppurtunities for involvement?

I would say that such a section would be very much like the pamphlet or folder that a company might hand you when you first begin working for them that tells you about all of the benefits, who to talk to when you have an issue, troubleshooting, etc.

I believe that I'm just a new penny. I haven't read the postings long enough. But I was just wondering... Is there a road map that would benefit someone like me?

As far as involvement goes, one makes that happen for oneself, here or in everyday life.

If you've been lurking (reading posts without joining in) then you must know the individual Boards have often commingled populations. Feel free to join in anywhere on whatever topic pleases you or catches your fancy; we all begin where and in the manner we're most comfy. For instance, i stayed over in How To... and handed out advice for awhile until i felt confident enough to venture onto other Boards. I'm pretty sure there's people around the other Boards, however, who never go to How To.... It all depends on you.

The best way to begin, however, is just to jump in. Kinda like what you're doing with this post.

I will keep tinkering and snooping. What I am really looking for is perhaps how you have come to know the site. Cymbidia says she just sort've started in one place and branched out.
