How do you submit a collaboration?

Laurel (or anyone who knows the answer):

Can you tell me how to go about submitting a collaborative story?

I think the story should go under group sex category but we would like it listed under both author's names - with the proper links to both of our author's pages and the ability for both of us to access the statistics on the story. And is there a way for a reader to be able to provide anonymous feedback to both authors?

CreamyLady and Skibum have a couple of wonderful story they worked on together ("Supergirl, Whining" and "Fortress of Ecstasy" but it appears they only appear under CreamyLady's author's page and not Skibum's - though Skibum gets a co-writing credit (however, if you click his name in the story it DOES NOT take you to his author's page but rather to the general author's index).

So - is there currently any way to submit a collaboration and have it credited to both authors? (Its not a chain story.)

Additionally - since there is no way in the auto script to list two authors - what is the proper way to submit such a story?

I just can't fucking wait to read your collaboration with KID ROCK1. Is this your entry for the "Gay Male" category?

*LOL*

Oh this... this... is just TOO GOOD!

Would my collaborator like to step foward and say anything? *GRIN*

That's tricky, been trying to figure out a way to do that fairly. Apparently, having two authors have simultaneous 'credit' for a story - so that it's in both of their queues and they both have voting score access - is not logistically possible as we have it set up right now. Manu and I have been trying to figure out a way to make it work, but haven't come up with anything concrete yet. The best thing I could suggest is for you and the collaborator to create a new profile - titled, say "Dillinger and Soandso" - and submit the story under that name, with the two of you retaining the password and access to it. Of course, if enough people do this, we will end up with all sorts of duplication of authors in the Index. For now, try that. In the future, hopefully there will be a better way.

Laurel - thanks for the info. I think that creating a new profile will, in the long run, just muck things up - for us and for you. IMHO

More than voting score access - which, one author could always just copy and send to the other - what is of interest is having both author's names appear in the story with links to their author's page and the ability to send feedback to either author.

Dill,

I'm not crazy about the whole "third name" thing either.

Go ahead and submit it under your name, and maybe put something in the forward that it is a collaboration with me ;).

You can just fwd me any feedback you get and keep me appraised of the numbers, right? I'm not all that concerned with those issues.

Laurel,

The only part of it that would be nice, would be to have 1) a link to both author pages from the story at the top. Is that part at least doable?

Sort of. They couldn't both be listed in the official author line - it's just not possible to have one story (technically a database 'record') belong to two authors (databise 'files'). A link can be manually added by myself at the top and bottom of the story - in the text of the story - with both authors names linked to their pages. The author just needs to make a note to this effect in the story itself.

Thanks Laurel... I'm submitting it tonight. *smile* If you could credit it to me but make sure there is a link manually added for Madame Pandora that would be great!

Surely! Just make sure you make a note of it in the file, 'cause I'm a scatterbrain.
