The G.O.P has created yet, another Frankenstein's monster.

Michael Barbaro, Maggie Haberman, and Jonathon Martin wrote an article in the New York Times about how the members of the G.O.P are coping with Donald Trump and the statements that he makes.

"They (less outrageous GOP members) fear insulting the white working-class voters who admire (Donald Trump) him."

"They are loath to tangle with a threat flinging firebrand for whom there are no rules of engagement."

"Why have so many (GOP) party leaders- privately appalled by Mr. Trump's remarks about immigrants from Mexico- not renounced him ?"

"It turns out, interviews show, that the mathematical delicacy of a Republican victory in 2010- and it's dependence on aging, anxious white voters-

make it exceedingly perilous for the Republican Party to treat Mr. Trump as the pariah many of its leadership wish he would become."

Donald Trump's Strident Language Silences Many Republicans

"...fearing Mr. Trump would mar the coming presidential debates with his needless provocations."

"...fearing attempts to rein him in would only turn him into a martyr and, worse, tempt him toward that third party run."

"...worried that Republicans are handing Democratic rivals a powerful campaign weapon by allowing Mr. Trump's voice to be depicted as representative of the party..."

Only last weekend, did Jeb Bush- after an earlier muted response, call the "rapists" comment "extraordinarily ugly" and "not reflective of the Republican party."

Donald Trump responds-

"(Mr. Priebus)... knows better than to lecture me!"

Senator Lindsey Graham-

"He's (Donald Trump) is taking a problem we already have as a party, and making it worse. If we continue this, ( gsgs comment- What is the "this," that is under discussion ? It would no be racism, prejudice and bigotry, would it ?) we're going to accelerate the demographic death spiral we're in."

(gsgs comment- There you have it. They are damned if they do, and damned if they do not feed racism.)

Thomas M. Davis-

"You have to keep (Donald Trump) him in the tent. He just wreaks havoc and every vote he takes comes out of our hide."

gsgs comment- Whatever happened to the win-win, for the Republican side of the fence? Are the Republicans now saying that rabid racists are not beneficial to their aims ?

"Some Latino Republican officials said they are dumbfounded by the reluctance of other Republicans to deliver full- throated rebukes of Mr. Trump- and suggested that debates might provide that opportunity.

Is Hector V. Barrett expecting too much from the G.O.P. ?

Has Hector taken a glance at the K.K.K., lately ?

Much like some on this board, the GOP feels the need to be quietly racist.

Someone needs to do this:

We may have enough to fill the slate. :D

Trump Gets Praise From Two of the Latino World's Most Despised Figures

July 9, 2015

GOP candidate Donald Trump received some glowing reviews from two of the Latino world’s most despised figures, former Gov. Jan Brewer, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

“I believe that Mr. Trump is kind of telling it like it really, truly is,” Brewer told CNN’s Don Lemon last night. “You know, being the Governor, the gateway of illegal immigration for six years, we had to deal with a lot of things. I think everybody knows that he’s right in regards to that — the coming across our border. So, we don’t even know how many [immigrants] are here.”

Meanwhile, Arpaio said it was “amusing” to see the heated response Trump has received from the worldwide Latino community for his bigoted remarks about Mexicans.

Trump has a “right to voice his opinion,” said Arpaio. “And I presume he is not going to back down."

The world, according to Arpaio-

Trump did not mean “to say anything derogatory about all the great people from Mexico.”

from the Washington Post-

GOP leaders fear damage to party’s image as Donald Trump doubles down

Rather than backing down from his comments about illegal immigrants — whom he characterized as rapists and killers, among other things — Trump has amplified his remarks at every opportunity, including in a round of interviews Wednesday.

He insisted to NBC News that he has “nothing to apologize for” in his repeated remarks about Mexicans. But he also predicted that, if he secures the GOP nomination, “I’ll win the Latino vote."

Arizona's top Republicans are snubbing Donald Trump

Donald Trump's views are coarse, ill-informed and inaccurate, and they are not representative of the Republican Party," said Flake. "As an elected Republican official, I'm disappointed the county party would host a speaker that so damages the party's image."
