How do you help someone get over being abused

Bandit58 said:
Hi Kiki *smooch*
I'd try the iron tablets anyway, it can't hurt. Gil has had iron transfusions a couple of times and it's helped a little, and he's on EPO (steroid) injections to help build up the red blood cells.

Hope they don't have to do anything too drastic :( I've been having trouble with flooding and skipping cycles in the last 18 months (dang perimenopause  ). I'm back on the contraceptive pill now which has helped dramatically, but my doctor did say there was a procedure in which they laser the lining of the uterus, "burn" it off in fact, so that periods are very light or non existent. Hope that info helps, it's a lot less traumatic than major surgery *HUGS*
Biggest problem is that once started, it doesn't want to stop. The last one was 21 days. I stopped for 9 days with the new meds and now I'm started again. I'm ready for ending it once and for all.

Have to go now. Time for bed.

Twenty Dollar Bill

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked,
"Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground
and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air.
My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it
because it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the
dirt by the decisions we make and
the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.
But no matter what has happened or
what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know,
but by WHO WE ARE.
You are special- Don't EVER forget it."
If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to,
or the hope that it can bring.
Count your blessings, not your problems.
And remember: amateurs built the ark ..
professionals built the Titanic.
If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

Just giving the thread a BUMP in case someone needs some help from us.;)

BUMP . . . from the Moree Steam Internet connection that runs at a whopping 100bps . . . on the rare occasions that it runs . . .

This town has a reputation for making money . . . so how will it cope when Telstra is sold the the Chase Manhattan Bank and the present nineteenth century gain pear system runs out of obsolete spares?? :D

But little johnny jackoff tells us we will be better off with TELSTA in private hands  was he telling lies again.

I also wonder how the future governments of this country will find funds when all the money making assets have been sold off.:(

When I read this, I have to admit I didn`t read any other posts, I just went straight to the last page of this thread hoping I wouldn`t have to go back very far to find you.
:D :D :D :D Here you are still going strong.
Now I can take my time and go back over the older posts My wife is the survivor of 10 years of childhood abuse. I know that she and others think they are weak, yet the strength needed to survive, breakout and carry on with life is nothing short of superhuman.
Anyway looks like I am starting to ramble, just wanted to say Don`t Let The Bastards Win!!.
Everyday that you are here they lose.
Bye for now:rose:

KIKI is a wonderful lady who I admire greatly & have gained strength from her as she has battled to overcome the horrors of her past & rebuild a new life.
My biggest wish for her is to find a real man who treats her as the lady she is with lots of love & care.

Hi Kiki, I have moved to a new town called Moree about 300 km west of Armidale. It is a bit smaller, being only 10,000 people. The country is flat, so flat that the locals dig holes to see a blimp on the horizon. There is a river, but you wonder when all you see is a trench with a bit of water in it. Hard to believe that in January or February, this overgrown gutter will be carrying flood waters that will engulf much of the town for several days.

Every weekend I drive back to Armidale to get a good dose of hills. Last weekend I even got a good dose of valleys, beaches, harbours and trees when I drove to Port Stephens, one of three natural ports on this section of coast, about 80 km by road north of Newcastle.

This coming weekend I am spending my first weekend in Moree. The locals are pullling my leg, saying that it is the weekend for the National Paint Drying Championships on Saturday, with the Wall Walking Fly Races on Sunday night, but I know better. My young neighbours have told me that everybody is leaving Moree . . . to go about 100 km south to Narrabri to double that population for the Ute Show and Rock & Roll Festival. Now why didn't I think of that.

The Internet is so slow that the snails are passing emails on the main street.

Hi everyone
Just wanted to drop in to post a hello. Good to see that this thread is still going for those in need.

I was recently reminded of people's ignorance when it comes to abuse. A man who was interested in settling down with me has dropped off the radar. This was after I told him about my past, what happened to me, as well as my need to work on my issues. I would rather be emotionally healed than heading into a LT relationship with baggage. So Now I am kind of miffed and hurt by his reaction...to simply ignore me.

Anyway enough venting. Everyone take care.

I'm so very sorry that this person has NOT been able cope with what your told him about your being a victim of abuse & it seems to me that even though it must hurt now that this person would NOT have been able to handle a LTR & wouldn't have been the ONE you really need, keep healing & if life is fair you will find the one.

PM me if you'd like to email or chat OK.;)
