How do you get that "qoute" thingy?

I feel so stupid asking such a simple question, and I'm sure the answer is very obvious. But how do I copy the quote or part of a quote from another part of a thread, into mine! I have tried different things but nothing works!!! Please help!!! Thank you!

At the bottom of each post there is a little icon and the word quote, just click on that in the post you want to quote, then you can cut out part of it, leave it whole, change the whole thing around if you want.
