How do you get motivated?

I'm not a published writer on Lit. But I love reading the stories. I have written before, and I LOVE to write...but I guess I get lazy sometimes. I am particularly fond of the incest stories...and the older man/younger female stories...so I'd like to write those first before I go on to other genres.

So my question is...how do YOU motivate yourself to write?

The easiest way to get motivated to write erotica/porn, is to sit back, and think what would turn you on, go into your fantasy routine, then start typing without cuming. Wet fingers and all.

I agree. For pure erotica I find it best to think of a fantasy I have and go from there. It might just be some little thing I have in the back of my head or it might be a big fantasy that has always made me horny but it always works for a starting off point.

Sometimes an idea for a story has been in the back of my mind for weeks.

Other times I think of something (sometimes after I've gone to bed) and it just grabs me by the throat and forces me to sit down and write until the words are out.

And other times, career and family pressures (I have two young children) get in the way. I have to put things on hold until I have the energy, the time, and the privacy to write!

I think you just have to find the moments when you can. Sometimes it is frustrating as hell!

The great thing about wiritng porn is that it's the best way to have a very sustained and detailed erotic fantasy. Most people might think, "Yeah, it would be nice to get that person into bed," and leave it at that. We erotic writers get to see the seduction in detail: how the clothes come off, how the other person reacts, how they arrange themselves on the bed, every detail of the love-making.

We get to say all the clever things we never thought of in real life. We get to have the other person act just the way we want; we get to have the weather and the setting be just perfect. It's complete self-indulgence.

If you're just starting out, then try writing a purely sexual fantasy, no plot other than what happens between two people making love. If that doesn't motivate you, then I don't know what will.

I don't. I just plop my ass down in front of the computer and turn it on. Then I see what happens. Sometimes I want to play games, sometimes I want to yap on the Lit boards. Sometimes I start writing on a story. I write for leisure, so whenever the inspitation and motivation doesn't come to me, and I have to look around to find it, then it's not leisure anymore, so I stop.

I guess that makes me a pretty unproductive writer, but hey, you asked. :)

Damn it, when I try to write a story it never works out that way. The characters refuse to do as I say. The last bunch formed a union and are on strike, demanding health benefits. The male lead refuses to do nude scenes unless I hire a stand-in for times when he's "not in the mood." Now he's hinting that he doesn't find the female lead attractive and wants a boyfriend written into the storyline.

And the weather NEVER cooperates.

How do you do it?
