How do you get a story deleted?

I mean, I followed the help page and clicked where it tells you to, which brings up a PM. It's been 8 days now. Of course, the last time I tried it for a different story (one or two years ago), that was never taken down.

I have PMs turned on, but it's like the mods ignore them in my case. In desperation, I sent an edited version with nothing in the story text but "please delete this story" and repeated that in the note to the mod section, so maybe that will work.

I'm wondering though if others have this level of difficulty getting stories removed? Or is there a better method?

Copy the end part of the URL for the story ( which is essentially your title )

Start a new submission.

Use the same title as the original ( or as much as will fit ) + something such as DELETE or DEL or *DEL*

Fill in everything else with placeholders, as they don't matter.

In the "Notes" section, say that you want to delete the story. This is where I would past the URL, to ensure the correct submission is being targeted.

Copy the "Notes" section, and paste it into the story text section, as there has to be something there.

Preview, and then Submit.

It will have to pass through the queue, but this is the recommended method for deleting a story. You can also delete a whole series or all your work this way by using the notes section to explain your mass deletion desire.

Submit the request in the new story section. Except in the text field you just tell them which story of yours you want deleted. You don't even have to write out an explanation for that request.

In that area, it's like sending the admins a message through that section.
You can even send them other kinds of requests there as well if the need arise.
