How do you even do an illustrated story?

I am leaving for vacation Saturday and it dawned on me that maybe I would work a few pictures I take into my Summer Contest Story.

I just went to the submission page to try and play with it a little to see if it would be worth it and I could not figure anything out.

Is there a different submission process for this? Am I a dummy? both?

Posting takes a lot longer, apparently - I've repeatedly seen folks say fortnightly or longer, as Laurel processes them in a batch - so it might depend on the size of the pile at the time. There's an FAQ somewhere, explains what to do - there's quite a bit of extra stuff needed to coordinate the pic files with the text file.

The only category is "Illustrated" so you're dependent on tags to pull your desired audience.

It's not a highly read category. There's some entertaining graphics dominated work there, but there's also a ton of standard text-based content with a few computer drawn pics - not quite my idea of 'illustrated'.

Seems like a lot of effort for not huge views.

I've realized I get muuuuuuuch more enjoyment out of one message here about my work then 1,000 views, so I'm not really worried about it. I thought it might be fun, but if it's too much work I'll pass.

The easiest way is to submit a word document (1997-2003).

Place the pictures in the document, anchor them and submit.
