How do you deal with...

Nikki,

You are welcome. I don't really have any great advise to give but I can give you my support.

When I go into depression I usually go hide in my own little world, when its really bad I even shut myself off from the world.
Recently, I'v been sick and with so much going on in my life that I had a mental break down. Two of my friends helped me through it. They told me that I was strong and that I had them to count on.

So, I'll tell you that you too are strong and you have many wonderful people here to count on.

I suffered badly for a long time off and on, I found like Lou said that finding something good to hold on to no matter how small can really help during the darker times.

A real friend can be a godsend, its at times like this that you find out who is or is not a real friend. If you have someone like that cherish them.

I found depression comes and goes, sometimes I can manage it some times not. In times like these I want to find somewhere isolated and scream out all the angst I feel gnawing away at me, If I can I feel much better.

When it was bad once the doc put me on seroxat, supposedly non habit forming anti depressants. It took me months to wean myself of those mothers.

Get a Jeep! the best solution (no one hears the screams with the windscreen down as you bellow forth your rage on an open stretch of road!

Most Importantly remember you are the most important thing in your life!

H.K.

;)

With me I felt totally alone, isolated and no-one could possibly understand what I was feeling.

You are not alone. We are all here.

as has been said before - take it one day at time, and remember that you are a special, worthy human being.

Hope you dont mind this piece of forwardness:kiss:

Have to agree but if you can open up to a friend it can help enormously. Once you realise thousands of others are suffering the same as you in isolation held back by lack of confidence or fear you can learn to fight back.

Never surrender.

Nikki,

In my country medicine is not the first thing, nor the second, for treating depression. I had a long search, but finally found a therapist who worked with the symbols in your subconscience. Dreams and things like that.
It helped me to look inside myself and accept the not so nice parts too.

I still have to be careful this time of the year, but I will be forever grateful that I had a little child that kept me here. You'll get past this.

Like others have said, you have a lot of strength locked inside you. You just lost the key for a moment. I know you'll find it again.
