How Do You Correct Mistakes In A Story Title?

I recently submitted a story, "Mykonos Weekend Liberty Ch. 02", only to find, to my embarrassed horror, that I had accidentally titled the story "Ch. 03" instead of the correct "Ch. 02".

Does anyone know a way that I can correct this very dumb mistake?

You say 'recently' - how recently? Has it been posted yet? If not just resubmit the new one and get the old one deleted by 'resubmitting', but typing 'DELETE' in the stroy title (that's right, isn't it AH?)

If it has been posted then you'll need to submit an edited version, but I'm not certain how to do that, so just hang on there and someone will be along shortly who can help you :)

Understood.

Thanks.

The main thing to remember is that there will actually be a pair of human eyes looking at your submission somewhere along the way, reading your comments and things, and so a reasonable explanation will often work wonders.

Also, a PM (not an email, a PM) to Laurel explaining the situation is a big, big help. You might just try PMing her and explaining the situation and asking her is she can change the title and see what she says. She usually responds overnight, and she might be able to take care of it that way, while it's still in the queue.

Otherwise, I think Vermillion's ideas seem pretty right.

I just sent a PM to Laurel, as per your advice.

Now, let's see what happens.

Thanks.

meh... my "part 3" is unfortuneately going to post as "part 34" ><
That's very interesting.

In truth, I'm quite certain that I did not make a mistake in my story title, when I submitted my story.

Are we getting "punked"?

note

i'd say, re submit as quickly as possible. put ['delete' old version, including title] in caps at the top of the submission.

---

PM's to Laurel are prioritized. I would not count on a quick response [picture dozens of people asking for little corrections/additions!}.

So i'd recommend the above.

I suspect that you are right.

Unfortunately, the damage is already done. My current plan is to wait one (1) day, to see if "the easy way out" works.

If not, I'm going to take your advice and try to have the story deleted. (It's taking an awful beating in the voting, anyway!)

Thanks.

Also, Make sure that you put the request in the comment field; I think that shows up a "on-mouse-hover" preview like the first post of a thread is previewed on the index page.

You were quite correct. I have not received a response from Laurel yet.

As per the above advice, I have requested that my story be deleted.

Thanks.

It's gone! It's finally gone! It took a week, but it's finally gone!

I'd like to thank everyone for their advice on how to delete a story.
