How do most men measure their penis'?

My wife and I are into swinging. Needless to say she has been told by prospective couples we might hook up with that the male half of the couple has "such and such" size. And when the playing started, the male was considerably smaller than he stated. This has created a situation that has resulted in her getting "the short end of the stick" (pun intended)

I measure my penis length on the top side(if I was standing) from the base to the tip. However my wife and I believe most men measure along the bottom.

So ladies, your opinions are requested here. Is the length of a penis the portion which can be fully used for penetration, or the part where by hand you can't feel erectile tissue any longer. If it's the latter, then I've been shorting myself, and need to be a bit more of a braggart!! LMAO

The correct method apparently is on top of your penis from the base to the tip. If you measure underneath from the base of your balls you add an extra couple of inches which leads to unrealistic expectations. Besides as noted in another thread isn't girth more important than length?!

If they measure using the bottom that would explain why the average guy thinks they are hung like a horse. I personally have never measured it so I can't tell you either way. All I know is I have never had someone complain about too little (or too much for that matter).

I for one have always said quality over quantity....doesn't matter the size if you have no idea what you're doing with it.

OMG! This brings back memories! I had a boyfriend when I was 18, and one night we were hanging out with a group of his buddies - 6 guys total, and I was the only girl. After a good number of beers, the guys started their usual "bragging", and decided this time to do something about it. They decided to actually measure.

Problem? They needed an objective party to actually DO the measuring. And guess who got selected? Yup. That's right - there I was standing, watching a circle of guys - 21 - 25 - all wanking off, trying to get their dicks as hard as possible.

Standing with a tape measure, and a very red face (hey, I had just been "deflowered" not 2 months previously!), I was confronted with the task of how to measure a man! I measured from the top because, being a woman, that was the part that was actually "useable". However, that meant that the guys were all measuring up at around 5" - 6". (in other words...average) So, they decided it would be much better to go underneath. Yeah, my hands buried in 6 pairs of balls! Most were much happier with the results and walked away proud of their suddenly 7", 8", or even 9" dicks! One guy even thought I should actually from BEHIND his balls because, technically, that is where he thought his dick actually "started"!

I think men should measure from the top - that is really what can be used in all respects. But men typically will measure from underneath to give them that few extra inches! (well, it really is no different than us females measuring our bustlines!)

Big mistake is getting hung up on length and girth, when it depends more on whether a man knows how to use it!

I don't want to be a trend breaker or anything, but I choose none of the above. The only time I measured it, some years ago when a friend boasted his was bigger, I didn't go from the top or the bottom.
I measured from the side.
Erect it's a bit hard, especially if yours bends slightly. But, that just adds an extra quarter of an inch, and in all honesty, who doesn't count those quarter inches?
Now that I've grown more, I haven't felt the need to measure it. I'm not that vain, it's a dick, it gets hard, it ejaculates. Why should I be so judgemental about something that does what it's supposed to do.

Not that the wife is hung up on size as I (not bragging) have to be careful not to bang her cervix too hard...(about a half an inch too long for her...) But she can't seem to understand why men will claim to be 7",(or whatever length they may claim) when in actuality they are smaller....her whole hangup has to do with the fact that if they lack the confidence to proudly proclaim their "average" size, then obviously they lack the skills to use it with confidence as well......

She'd be just as happy with a 4" pecker if it had a big mushroom head to hit her G-spot....

I used to think it was length that mattered.
But then hubby and I started swinging, and as we got into things with the other couple I realized that the other guy was now nearly as long and my husband. So thinking I was up for disapointment much to my surprise he mu thicker than my husband and that is where it mad the difference. Even though he wasn't as long,(partly because of alcohol) he was still able to pleasure me purely from the girth of his dick.
