Join a role playing game?

Is it proper to join one already in progress, depending on the stage the game is in?

Or is it better to just start a thread?

Also, if I join a game, does it matter that I don't have computer access until the evenings? I've recently changed jobs and they keep a close eye on what I'm doing on the computer.

I've been peeking in on a couple of threads that caught my eye and I think I know how it's done.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

I would OCC and ask or email the person who created the scene and ask that way. I have been on a number of threads and rarely post more than once a day. Have fun-they can be quite rewarding!

Of course you can join threads already in motion. My suggestion though? Try to enter before the thread gets to be more than two pages long. Usually, people have a very nice scene going on, and it's too hard to weave your character in.

Most of the threads start, asking for characters. When you want to join, simply think of something for your character to enter on, or think of something that they could have been doing. Just basically introduce them to the rest of the characters. Give your descriptions, have fun, and enjoy yourself.

Posting new threads can be great too if you have an original idea, or a fantasy you would like to play out.

Basically, just have fun with it. If you have any questions, post an ooc on the thread and someone will help you. Or you could always email me. I'll answer anything you need, hon.

Ta!

Thanks you guys. I was beginning to wonder if I had posted this on the wrong board <g>.

What's an OOC though?

Okay, so I'm more lost than I thought, sorry.

ooc is "out of context."

ic is "in context."

Basically, whenever you want to say something that has nothing to do with the actual story, put it in OOC. That way the readers know you're asking a question or making a comment.

IC should be used for the story line.

Hope I helped!

Actually, OOC means "Out Of Character" and IC means "In Character". We use OOC's to talk, ask a question, or make a comment related to the thread, and some people will place an "IC" after an "OOC" and said comment, to let everyone have the understanding that they're going back into character. :)

Hope that makes sense? It's late here lol!

*blows raspberry*

That's what I said!

*w*

And ooc can be either or. It just depends on the user. NYAH! *giggles*
